I am huge fan of the original V, so much so I spent Sunday watching the original miniseries re-air on SyFy for 11 and a half hours. So when I heard that ABC was remaking V, I was less than enthused. That was until I saw the pilot. The episode blew me away and I have been waiting almost two months for this show to start up, so I could watch the series play out.
There are elements from the original V in this one. Like spaceships hovering over major cities throughout the world. Also The Visitors say they are here to help us with medical advances and they need something from us to ensure the survival of their planet. Oh and the most important thing that is still the same is under their skin lives a lizard.
While those are the same things, there are changes and some of them are reversals of which sex plays certain roles. In the original V, the spokesperson was a woman and this time it is Scott Wolf so not sure how that will change things up. But the big one that was changed is the teen recruiter is a female and the human is a guy. In the original V their relationship lead to the human girl getting pregnant, so I can’t wait to see who will get pregnant in this version…that is if anyone gets pregnant? After all we did learn from Alien Nation that alien men can have babies, so maybe on V the human male can get pregnant?
This updated version of V starts off so much faster than the original one and the special effects are flawless. Seriously V is the most exciting drama to come to TV this season and you don’t want to miss out on any part of this show. So make sure to watch it tonight on ABC at 8p!
UPDATE: Some bad news coming out about the show today, according to James Hibberd V is changing up their show runners. That is never a good sign for any show. Especially since ABC split V’s airings to air 4 episodes now and the remaining ones to start up again in March. Plus it was widely reported that ABC put the show on a production hiatus because they didn’t like where it was going. Like I stated above I loved the pilot and I really hope this show does well because it is the best drama ABC has on their air right now. Their veterans are going to hell in a handbasket. Seriously when was the last time there was a watchable episode of Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice or Ugly Betty? I sure as heck can’t remember why I am still watching any of those shows.
Owen Wilson is going from playing a dog owner to playing an owned dog. The Marley & Me star has signed on to voice Marmaduke in the screen version of the long running comic strip according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The movie will deal with Marmaduke and his family moving from Kansas to Orange County, Ca and he will be involved in a turf war between the pedigrees vs the mutts. Mischievous Marmaduke will set his eyes on a purebred, but will he be able to win her heart or fall from grace?
The movie also stars “Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy play the humans, while Fergie, Emma Stone, George Lopez, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Steve Coogan, Damon Wayans, Marlon Wayans supply the voices.”
If anyone but Owen Wilson were starring in this movie, I would probably be bashing it. But I am curious to see what they are going to do with it. Most of these movies are really enjoyable even if they are geared towards kids. After all we are all kids at heart!
Whether you have been watching Glee since day one or you have never seen an episode (What is wrong with you that you missing the best new show in a really long time), Glee: The Music, Volume 1 is the must have CD! There is at least one song on it for everyone and let’s be honest there is more than one tune that anyone can enjoy. I know I am not the only who loves the music from Glee because since it debuted in May over 2 million people have downloaded at least one song from the hugely successful show and their first hit Don’t Stop Believin’ just went Gold with over 500,000 downloads. Extremely impressive!

1. “Don’t Stop Believin’â€
2. “Can’t Fight This Feelingâ€
3. “Gold Diggerâ€
4. “Take a Bowâ€

Remember when Weezer was groundbreaking and rad? After what I have been reading about them in the last few weeks, it’s been getting harder and harder for me to remember that.
First it was bad when I read that they recorded a song with American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert. Then I heard (see below) they were spotted performing with Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester at a show in NYC over the weekend. But the straw that broke camel’s back for me came today when I saw that Weezer is selling personalized Snuggies to sell their latest CD Raditude that is out tomorrow. Seriously when did they get so lame that they are selling blankets with sleeves to promote their music. I mean even The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Tom Jones wouldn’t do something so geriatric. I want to know when Weezer became such big sell outs to do all of the above? It happened so rapidly, I don’t think any of us saw it coming. Did you?
BTW now having said all of that I so want a Weezer Snuggie and Raditude! It’s only $30 maybe I will splurge for the blue one!
