High School Musical and This Is It’s Kenny Ortega has quit as the director of the Footlloose remake. According to Variety, “Insiders said Ortega wanted to make a picture with elaborately staged musical numbers at a budget of $30 million or so. Par production chief Adam Goodman wanted an edgier drama with less emphasis on the musical numbers and a budget around $25 million or less.” If Paramount is seriously thinking of remaking the movie without musical numbers, I say just kill the project now. Well that and it also stars Chace Crawford and Julianne Hough. It is not like I don’t like them, but they are just not right for the movie that Paramount thinks they want to make because they just bring the element of cheese. Julianne is like the cutest and sweetest thing ever, how is she going to play edgy in her first big role?
This is not the first set back for the movie, Zac Efron like his HSM director also quit the film siting that he wanted to take on different type of roles. Just like they replaced Zac with hiss look-alike Chace, Paramount is actively looking for a new director and hopes to keep the start of production on schedule in March. I wonder how Chace is going to do both Footloose and Gosspi Girl, and I guess that means two-time chamo Julianne Hough will not be returning to Dancing with the Stars anytime soon.
Am I the only hoping that this film doesn’t get made? As we learned with Fame some things are better left the way that are.
On Tuesday night on Spike TV at 10p Josh Hutcherson will be be presenting an award SCREAM 2009, but this weekend he is celebrating the release of his new movie Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. On the red carpet he told me about this movie and like so many of his love of Vampires. He also told me about the movie he is currently filming in Michigan, Red Dawn with Tom Cruise’s son Connor.
Josh Hutcherson might only be 17 years old, but you can tell he is going to be a huge star! So don’t forget to check him at his of many SCREAM awards this Tuesday on Spike TV at 10p!

Spotted Ed Westwick with his shirt open exposing his hairy chest and looking so cheesy. He seriously reminds one of the disco guys from the ’70s who thought he was all sexy in a polyester suit with his shirt open showing off his hairy chest and wearing lots of fake gold chains, not realizing that women were so turned off. At least I assume they were repusled because whenever I see men like that in movies or the Two Wild and Crazy Guys skit on SNL, I throw up in my mouth a little. And I have never heard any of my friends go, I would do him when they saw that look on a guy. I mean if guy like that approached you in a bar, don’t tell me you wouldn’t walk away?
But back to Ed, if his face didn’t look as hot as it did in those pictures I would totally be throwing up in a little in my mouth right about now. But it could be just that I don’t have a thing for guys with hairy chests like that?

Dang Barry Manilow really needs to lay off the self tanner because that color is so not natural. Even Jordan would tell him he looks fake and needs to tone down on the self tanning.
