NBC announced today that Parenthood will not premiere until the midseason because of Maura Tierny’s undisclosed illness according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Start of production on NBC Universal’s new series ‘Parenthood’ has been postponed for eight weeks due to medical evaluation that valued cast member Maura Tierney is undergoing,” NBC said in a statement. “The top priority for NBC, Universal Media Studios and Imagine Television is the well-being of Ms. Tierney. We are unable to release further details and ask that you respect her privacy at this time.”
You have to respect NBC for holding off until midseason and not recasting her part because they don’t want to wait for her to get better. Hopefully she will get well soon.
Mercy which was to debut later on in the season will take over Parenthood’s slot for the time being.
Sci Fi just rebranded itself as SyFy on Tuesday and one of the big changes is that Eureka moves to a new night tonight. Having Eureka on Friday nights is going to be a great way to end the week because it is just such an enjoyable show. You would think a show that is all about superior brain cells would be too much for your Friday brain cells, but it actually tickles them! This show is just so darn likable and fun to watch as a town full of geniuses make some big stupid mistakes!
Tonight’s season premiere picks up where it left off with Jack Carter just being fired from his job as Sheriff from this hush hush town and looking for a new job. He doesn’t want to leave and he doesn’t want to uproot his daughter Zoe who has made her own niche in the town, but there is no other work for him there. Eureka is rapidly expanding because Jack’s sister is pregnant with twins and Allison is pregnant with her dead (an experiment gone bad on their wedding day) husband’s baby. Jo is settling in to her new position of sheriff at least she thinks she is hers to take, but it isn’t…not in this town. Wait until you see who they hire to replace Jack.
Besides all the changes for the show, things remain the same for this show when it comes to creativity and chemistry between the cast. It is just as zany as these brilliant people try to help make the world a better place by destroying the town they live in. So will Jack be able to stay in this town or will he be gone? And what errors will Allison, Jack, Jo, the new sheriff and Henry try to clean up before their damage goes too far find out tonight and every Friday at 9p on the new and improved SyFy!!!

Johnny Depp was being interviewed by T4’s Rick Edwards and he admitted his biggest Public Enemy is that he “prefers not to look at himself.” Lucky for us we make up for all the time he is missing out by not looking at that gorgeous mug that hasn’t aged a day since he started acting.
But seriously how sweet was it that Johnny Depp was so humble when he answered the question why he hasn’t seen his own movie Public Enemies. I just love him even more, how can you not?
Last month Sony rain delayed production of Brad Pitt's next movie days before the game was suppose to start because they didn't like the changes Steven Soderbergh made to the script since his first pitch. Sony has not given up on the Moneyball and has brought in Aaron Sorkin to pinch hit, I mean rewrite the script according to The Hollywood Reporter. Soderbergh is out, but as of now Brad Pitt is still in the line up. Hey if he goes on the DL, then Aaron can bring in another Brad that he has played several games with…Bradley Whitford.
