It was yet another pretty much boring Oscars. Hugh Jackman did a good job and I loved his dance numbers. But minus those, his hosting was to minimal, they should have used him more.
The promise the show would go three hours, did not happen because of two wastes of times. One the stupid montages for the movies of 2008, minus the one that I couldn’t find on YouTube with James Franco and Seth Rogen. Where was the horror one? Huh? The other was bringing 5 past winners to announce the new winner. The Robert DeNiro to Sean Penn was the best, but some of the other ones were awkward and boring. Next year skip those!
Speeches! Loved Kate Winslet and Sean Penn. About time Kate won and gave a great speech! And who knew Sean Penn could be so funny? A positive to the Academy was that they didn’t cut the speeches short and play that rude music! Please do that again!
The part of the Oscars that infuriated me was what they did to “In Memoriam”. While having Queen Latifah sing live was a nice touch, but to not have the video full screened was an insult to those who died. I couldn’t always tell who they were honoring and I thought that was rude.
To the producers who tried to get that stink eye glance from Angelina Jolie when Jennifer Aniston tried to be funny, I am glad that didn’t work in your favor. Just like a lot of the jokes you wrote for the presenters. And talking about the presenter…where the stars? Jack Nicholson? Tom Hanks? Julia Roberts? Robin Williams? Tom Cruise? Jack Nicholson? Yeah I said him twice because he is always there…
OK! I am done with movie Awards shows for another 10 months!!!
