Could it be that Whoopi Goldberg will be replacing Rosie O'Donnell on The View? A source told Star Magazine it looks to be a done deal, "As far as everyone at ABC is concerned, she has the job. They have been meeting with Kathy Griffin, Rosanne Barr, Ricki Lake and Gayle King. While Kathy was a strong contender, Whoopi has won everyone over. Everyone is acting like Whoopi already has the gig. Whoopi has a radio show, she lives in NYC and she is an institution. She also is liberal and outspoken but not crazy like Rosie was. She will be a perfect fit as far as the ladies on The View are concerned. Nothing has been officially announced, But it is 99 percent Whoopi at this point. They will have a few guest hosts throughout the summer but the executives and producers at The View are set on Ms. Goldberg to start in the fall."
Personally I think they are making a mistake because she is way too crass and a live wire, but then again so was Rosie O'Donnell. I think they should try to get someone new as compared to getting someone like Rosie and Star Jones. Especially when the person they are hiring had a failed talk show and a sitcom, to me that would send a red flag that they are making a mistake. But hey that is just my opinion…maybe The View should ask me to tryout…way joking.
Finally we get to see Britney Spears' little tyke and he is just adorable. Who would have thought that Kevin Federline and her could produce such cute kids together, but they did. Now we just have to wait for her to do a spread with both of the boys in one of the magazines.
Oy freaking G'Valt, Paris Hilton has turned into your typical prisoner and has found G-d. ABC News' Barbara Walters has scored the first interview with the imprisoned Paris Hilton and Paris admitted this to her, "I used to act dumb. That act is no longer cute. Now, I would like to make a difference. … God has given me this new chance." WTF? Oh please, I just can't believe her. But I do believe she acted dumb, but I do not expect her to change I think she is just saying it to try to redeem herself.
Paris also told her what her jail experience is like, "I was not eating or sleeping. I was severely depressed and felt as if I was in a cage. … It was a horrible experience." Kind of sounds like the claustrophobia rumors might be true and that her meds have kicked in.
So how did Barbara Walters score the interview, in one word luck. Kathy Hilton being the supportive mother that she is was on the phone with Walters when Paris called in and was relaying information to her mom to tell her. Finally Paris told her that she just wanted to speak to her directly and collect called her. Of course Walters accepted the charges and found out how Paris is doing. ABC and Barbara Walters will be exploiting this interview as much as possible starting with The View today.
UPDATE: Here is Barbars Walters talking about it on The View:
OK, I have never seen an episode of The Sopranos in my life and after watching the final five minutes of the show…even I have to say that is way f()cked up. Seriously after only watching 5 minutes of the show, I was like oh sh!t, WTF? How do you end such a loved show like that? I mean at least with Angel you sort of the knew outcome at the series finale and we are getting another season of Jericho to find out what happens, but you The Sopranos fans are screwed.
Oh well, the best way to put is to a use a phrase made famous by the HBO show…FUGETABOUTIT.
