STING is in talks to reform The Police for a special tour to mark their 30th anniversary. The group, who have not played together since 1984, are considering a series of summer concerts across the UK. Rehearsal dates have already been planned, say music industry sources. Singer Sting, 55, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers would perform their classic hits including Walking On The Moon and Every Breath You Take. The concerts would coincide with record label A&M releasing some material from the band’s back catalogue. A source said: "They were intending to make an announcement in January after all the tour dates had been finalised. "They are speaking to venues about playing in May and June." A spokeswoman for A&M confirmed that "early discussions" with the band had taken place but said there were no firm dates for concerts.

She intimated she wanted to leave and as she stood up, "she went into a dead faint and just fell right to the floor." Her group pulled her up and lay her on the bed at the same time as her personal security asked for the club to provide at least 10 other security managers to "get her out as quickly as possible." They surrounded the stricken pop star in an attempt to screen her from all observers and the new years revelers on the crowded dance floor. One woman in the Spears’ entourage yelled, "Make sure nobody gets any photos. No photos anywhere." When the 12-strong security phalanx was in place, two of her dancers wrapped Britney in what appeared to be a blanket-hooded poncho. Literally carrying her in both arms, they managed to propell her through the crowds and out of the club. It appeared as if "she was being dragged as she wasn’t walking under her own speed" said one eyewitness. "It looked as if they wanted to get her up to her hotel room as soon as possible." At 2AM this morning, an ambulance was summoned to the hotel but it was totally unclear if it was brought to Caesars for Britney.

A troupe of dancers in skin-colored body suits had Japanese national broadcaster NHK apologizing to viewers of its New Year’s Eve music special for what seemed to be a full-scale Janet Jackson-style wardrobe malfunction. The dancers, who all appeared to be topless and wore skimpy bikini-style bottoms and feathered head-dresses, covered the stage during a performance by singer DJ OZMA, prompting about 250 viewers to phone in and complain. “The dancers were wearing body suits, but we apologize for any misunderstanding,” a presenter announced toward the end of the 57th annual “Red and White Song Contest”. “I guess it looked a bit too real,” local media quoted the singer as telling reporters after the show, which regularly tops viewer ratings on New Year’s Eve in Japan.
