James Brown’s widow locked out |

James Brown’s widow, Tomi Raye, knelt and banged at the iron gate she could not pass through Monday. The padlocked gate blocked the entrance to her Beech Island home of the past 10 years with Mr. Brown, who died Monday. Mr. Brown’s lawyer, Buddy Dallas, and accountant, David Cannon, would not allow Mrs. Brown access to the home, she said. "They’ve been robbing from him all of his life and they’ll do it in death," she said. Mrs. Brown said she does not own the deed to the home on the 400 block of Douglas Drive. However, she said she had a legal right to live there with her and Mr. Brown’s 5-year-old son, James Jr. Mrs. Brown said she intends to hire a lawyer and fight Mr. Cannon’s and Mr. Dallas’ block to her home in a courtroom. Contacted at home, Mr. Cannon would not comment on the situation on Monday. Security guards at the Brown residence said they were instructed not to comment to the media by Mr. Dallas. A phone message left for Mr. Dallas was not immediately returned on Monday. Mrs. Brown and her son were to spend the night with her mother on Monday. "This is my home," Mrs. Brown said outside the gate of the house. "I don’t have any money. I don’t have anywhere to go." Today , Mrs. Brown said she plans to meet Mr. Dallas at the home to retrieve personal property. Burned out from touring, Mrs. Brown said she was attending a retreat at a beachat the time of her husband’s death in Atlanta. The family planned to reuniteat their home on Monday. "The last thing he said to me was, ‘I love you baby and I’ll see you soon,’" Mrs. Brown said.
The Augusta Chronicle
That is some FUS for his people to do that to his grieving widow, you know they want the money all to themselves. The Augusta Chronicle has a quote from James Brown’s lawyer saying that Tomi Raye and James Brown were never legally married…but he does not address that they also locked out James Brown’s daughter. What about her?

George Lopez Dreams of Jeannie! |
December 26th, 2006 under Barbara Eden, George Lopez. [ Comments: none ]

BARBARA EDEN was everybody’s favorite "Jeannie," including GEORGE LOPEZ, who has cast the legendary actress on an episode of his hit ABC TV series, which will air sometime in early 2007. "I was married to the TV growing up, and Barbara is one of the people who became a part of my extended family through TV," George tells ET. "My own TV show has selfishly given me the opportunity to bring in people I admire." Barbara has joined the cast in the role of Ruth, George and Angie’s (CONSTANCE MARIE) new housekeeper, but one who is not all that interested in keeping house. George got the idea from a friend, who had hired a housekeeper who was great with kids, but left the house in a mess. "I think she just loves to do for him," Barbara says. "She just wants to cook, bake and feed him. I feel that way about my dog. Some people like to nurture. That is just the way she is. She just wants to see him eat and be happy. She really doesn’t want to do housework. It isn’t her thing. My mother was a little like that." It has been more than 30 years since "I Dream of Jeannie" left the air and Barbara was a regular on a TV series, but even so, she says she wouldn’t say no if asked to return to the weekly grind. "I am really surprised she isn’t on a show already," George adds. "She is well prepared, brilliant comedically, and just fantastic at everything she is doing." Something else that Barbara is doing is theater. She has joined forces with LARRY HAGMAN, her "I Dream of Jeannie" co-star, and the two are doing performances of Love Letters at venues across the country. "I think it is just a matter of wanting to work," she says of her long-term success. "A lot of people don’t want to work. They don’t enjoy it. They have had some success, but they don’t really enjoy it. I do a lot of theater. I don’t think I would want to sing again, but I like to act."
Entertainment Tonight
She looks amazing, will she ever age? On another note I love Love Letters, so if it is coming to your town you should go see it.

Too soon for a Steve Irwin doll? |
December 26th, 2006 under Steve Irwin. [ Comments: none ]

Add Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin to the pantheon of adventure heroes immortalized as action figures. In honor of the late Irwin’s dedication to nature conservation and education and his love of animals, Wild Republic, the nature brand of K&M International, has teamed up with the Irwin family and the Australia Zoo to bring a new line of toys to the USA. Among the line’s 39 products: an Irwin figure ($22) that spouts Steve’s trademark phrases — "Crikey!" among them, no doubt — play sets and plush toys. They will be unveiled at the International Toy Fair Feb. 11-14 in New York. Bindi Irwin, 8, was filming a new series for the Discovery Channel, co-starring her father, at the time of his death. Irwin, 44, died Sept. 4 in Port Douglas, Queensland, after a stingray pierced his heart. "We all know that Daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did," Bindi Irwin said in a statement. "Now it’s our turn to help him."
USA Today
I don’t maybe it is just me, but that just seems so wrong. Seriously, did they have to include the crocodile?

Would you watch four hours of NBC’s Today? |
December 26th, 2006 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

STRETCHING the "Today" show to four hours appears to be a done deal. The extra hour. which would air from 10 to 11 a.m., would address a chronic problem for NBC, which in recent years has not been able to create a new show that keeps viewers from drifting off to other channels. Martha Stewart’s daily show airs there now. NBC officials were unavailable for comment over the holiday weeekend, but the network released a statement indicating the fourth hour is a strong possibility "Given the strength of the first three hours of the ‘Today’ show, we can see how a fourth hour would be attractive," it said. "However, as we said to our affiliates earlier this month, no definite decision has been made." It’s not known who would host a fourth hour of "Today" – though it is clear neither Meredith Vieira or Matt Lauer would be the anchor. They both sign off now at 9 a.m. – after two hours – and leave the third hour of "Today" to a rotating group of hosts. But insiders are saying that only a last-minute bump in the road can derail plans now. The network is expected to make a decision early next year. The Post’s Page Six reported recently that "Access Hollywood" co-host Billy Bush has interviewed for the job. "Nobody has talked to me" about an offer yet, Bush said in a recent e-mail exchange. "At this stage, I know nothing" about whether the show is a "go." Bush was "AH’s" New York correspondent before being named to co-host the show in L.A. The move to expand past 10 a.m. is, in fact, more promising than extablishing a third hour at 9 a.m. Despite its name and familiarity, the third hour of "Today" has not been able to make a dent in "Live with Regis and Kelly," which remains one of daytime TV’s most popular shows. But in big cities like New York, the competition at 10 a.m. is less formidable. Only the new "Rachel Ray" is established in that hour here.
NY Post
I can’t even do a minute, so I could not see forsee doing 240 minutes a day. I doubt AH will let Billy Bush go now that Nancy is pregnant…

Don’t forget Clay Aiken on Days of our Lives tomorrow! |

I am so happy that Patch finally got his memory back and Kayla and him are really back together! They have always been my favorite couple on Days! And to have Clay sing to them tomorrow is just icing on the cake for me.
BTW is it just me or is it weird seeing Stephen Nichols without his patch?
