Legendary music man James Brown will lay in repose at the Apollo Theater in Harlem tomorrow. The Theater last night posted a tribute to Brown on its marquee. The body of Brown, who died Monday, will be returned to Augusta, Ga., for a private service on Friday. Meanwhile, the Times Square club where he was supposed to take the stage on New Year’s Eve is promising ticket holders a replacement show. The B.B. King Blues Club on West 42nd Street will announce today who will be filling the spot, said p.r. director Rena Siwek. Also, 1,400 tickets had been sold as of late last week for a show tonight at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Conn.

Personally I never got that lying in state thing, but that is me.

Britney Spears on Paris Hilton’s crap list now? |
December 27th, 2006 under Britney Spears/KFed, Paris Hilton. [ Comments: none ]

They’ll always have Vegas! Paris Hilton and Britney Spears (who struck up an unlikely kinship in late November, following Spears’ separation from hubby Kevin Federline, 28) are on the rocks, and it looks like Spears, 25, was the heartbreaker. Weeks ago, “Britney called Paris and said she had decided not to be seen in public with her ‘for now,’” a Hilton source tells Us. Though the pair were once practically joined at the hip (they previously had a sleepover in Las Vegas and were spied dancing on banquettes at West Hollywood’s Hyde), things went sour after Spears took heat in the media for partying while leaving her two kids, Sean, 15 months, and Jayden, 3 months, at home. “Britney told Paris that it’s not personal,” says an insider. But beware a Hilton scorned. According to another source, the heiress, 25, didn’t invite Spears to her December 18 Christmas party and now refers to her ex-pal as “Animal.” Why? “Britney doesn’t think about things before she does them. She just acts out,” says the source. (Spears’ rep couldn’t be reached for comment. Says Hilton’s camp: “Her friendships are her own business.”)

Britney messed with the wrong person when she messed with Paris. But then again Britney is capable of making a big mess of her life all by herself.

Will Ryan Kwanten be one of Tom Cruise’s Lions for Lambs? |

Ryan Kwanten has proved the skeptics wrong. The former Aussie Soap star is now well and truly on his way to Tinseltown’s top. He just wrapped the lead role in [fellow Aussie’s] James ‘Saw’ Wan’s “Dead Silence”, and now, according to Dark Horizons, is on Robert Redford’s radar. (Once you’re on that radar, you’re on everyone’s radar – just ask Scarlett Johansson). Kwanten – affectionately known as ‘The V Man’ for his time on “Home and Away”; sure he likes being reminded of it – is apparently in talks to join Redford, Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise for “Lions for Lambs”. Redford directs the movie, which tells of a platoon of U.S. soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. Assumingly, Kwanten is in talks to play one of the soldiers. Not bad work if you can get it.

I really hopes he get the role because he so nice to watch!

Blonde Ambition is so getting a Razzie nom next year? |
December 27th, 2006 under Nick Lachey/Jessica/Ashlee Simpson, Razzies movies?. [ Comments: none ]

Country icon Willie Nelson will reunite with Jessica Simpson in "Blonde Ambition," a loose remake of the 1988 film "Working Girl." The story follows a young woman (Simpson) who becomes the unwitting pawn of two ruthless business executives in their bid to usurp and replace the head of an international conglomerate. Nelson is playing Simpson’s grandfather. They previously worked together on her feature debut, "The Dukes of Hazzard." Also cast is comedian Larry Miller, who will play the conglomerate’s CEO. He previously starred for the film’s director, Scott Marshall, in "Keeping Up with the Steins." Previously cast in the film were Luke Wilson, Rachael Leigh Cook, Andy Dick and Penelope Ann Miller. The movie is shooting in New York and Shreveport, La. Sony Entertainment will release the film theatrically.

Looks like Sony is no longer considering to release this movie straight-to-DVD? I wonder if after they test it, they will change their minds? No offense to Luke Wilson, but that has to be some of the worst casting in years. Seriously Andy Dick? Do they really want this movie to fail?
