December 29th, 2006 under Bill Lawrence. [ Comments: none ]

Scrubs
I am not into this song as much as Guy Love, but it definitely has that Avenue Q feel. I can’t wait to see the episode on January 18th!

Studio 60 is a DVR darling!
December 29th, 2006 under TV Scripted Prime Time. [ Comments: none ]

The initial ratings for NBC’s "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" often don’t look that great. A week later, though, they generally look somewhat better. The first-year series from "West Wing" creator Aaron Sorkin is the most "time-shifted" series on television this season, according to ratings provider Nielsen. That means a greater percentage of its viewers record the show and watch it later than anything else on the broadcast networks. At the beginning of 2006, Nielsen started tracking two different ratings systems as a way to measure the impact of digital video recorders. "Live plus same-day" ratings — the ones reported on Zap2it every morning — measure the number of people who watch a given show as it airs or within the next few hours. In "Studio 60’s" case, that number hovered around 8 million people for much of the fall. Nielsen also tracks "live plus seven" ratings, which includes people who watch a recorded copy of a show within the next week. "Studio 60" adds nearly 11 percent to its total audience in those ratings; including reruns, its average is closer to 9 million viewers for the season. All but one of the top 10 time-shifted shows air on NBC or The CW, suggesting that people may not be breaking their habit of watching higher-rated networks (CBS, ABC) live but are sampling other shows thanks to their DVRs. "Studio 60’s" lead-in, "Heroes," already draws a big same-day audience, but it’s second in the time-shifted ratings as well, adding 9.1 percent more viewers in the following week. The rest of the top 10 are "Gilmore Girls," which adds 7.9 percent more viewers; "America’s Next Top Model," 7.7 percent; "30 Rock," 7.5 percent; "Friday Night Lights," 7.5 percent; "The Nine," 6.7 percent; "Supernatural," 6.7 percent; and "Kidnapped," "One Tree Hill" and "Smallville," all at 6.6 percent.

I am one of those people who watches almost everything on DVR. There are just a handful of shows I watch live and even that is rare. Do you still watch live TV?

Matchbox 20 reuniting?
December 29th, 2006 under Whatever happened to.... [ Comments: none ]

Thomas Working On Matchbox Twenty Reunion…. Rob Thomas and his former Matchbox Twenty bandmates are working on material for a fourth album, but refuse to be locked into a specific release date. The new album would be the group’s first studio set since 2002’s More Than You Think You Are and since founding member Adam Gaynor left the band. Thomas explains, "We’ve been talking about doing some Matchbox stuff. The guys in the band are writing. "We’ve been around over 10 years and we’ve been gone now for a couple of years, so we don’t have any reason to do it until we’ve really got something we stand behind and we love. "So who the hell knows what that’s going to be."

This was a band I was not into until I saw them in concert. They are amazing live and their music is actually really good.

Mike Tyson in trouble again…shocking.
December 29th, 2006 under Arrested, Mike Tyson, Mug Shot. [ Comments: 1 ]

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was arrested in December 2006 on drunk driving and cocaine possession charges following a police stop outside an Arizona nightclub. Tyson, 40, was pulled over when his BMW nearly struck a sheriff’s cruiser after he left a Scottsdale bar. When he failed field sobriety tests, the pugilist was arrested for driving under the influence. A subsequent search turned up two small bag of cocaine in Tyson’s pocket and another bag in his car. He was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s lockup
I think that is the best mugshot of the year because he looks like he is sticking his tongue out and it comes two days before the end of the year! It was so worth the wait!

What is Jared Leto’s secret shame?
December 29th, 2006 under Lindsay Lohan. [ Comments: 1 ]

Jared Leto was so ashamed of dating Lindsay Lohan he avoided being photographed with her. The ‘Mean Girls’ star says her relationship didn’t work out with the ‘Fight Club’ actor because he didn’t like the crowds of paparazzi who follow her everywhere. Lindsay said: "Jared was so paranoid. He’d always be like, ‘Don’t come over if you’re going to bring 15 paparazzi!’ " The 20-year-old actress – who recently confessed she likes to date more than one man at a time – said Jared was one of her few proper boyfriends. She said: "I don’t think I’ve had enough experience with dating one guy for a long time. The only one was Jared, and Wilmer Valderrama." Lindsay was not Jared’s first celebrity love interest. He has also dated Cameron Diaz, Scarlett Johansson and Ashley Olsen.

He was not ashamed that he was a 33 year old man dating a 19 year old minor, but because of the paparazzi she attracted? There is just something so wrong about that.
