Lindsay Lohan’s purse snatched in Heathrow?
September 7th, 2006 under Lindsay Lohan. [ Comments: none ]

TMZ has learned that Lindsay Lohan was robbed at Heathrow Airport in London this afternoon. Scotland Yard tells TMZ a "theft of a bag at Heathrow Airport was reported to police by a 20-year-old woman." They continue to say "it is alleged that as the woman exited the Terminal One building, she noticed that an orange Hermès handbag was missing from her suitcase trolley." The bag, according to police, contained "a quantity of jewelry." Lindsay’s rep, Leslie Sloane, confirms to TMZ the theft occurred and that Lindsay is extremely upset about the loss of personal belongings. "She is begging for the return of the items," Sloane says. "She doesn’t care how she gets them back, she just wants her stuff back." The Hermès Birkin bag that was stolen also contained Lindsay’s much needed asthma medication. TMZ cannot confirm the value of the jewelry that was taken, but a source close to the case indicates it may be worth over $1 million.Scotland Yard says they are investigating the matter but, as of yet, have no suspects.

What is scarier to a Florida Weatherman a hurricane or a roach?
September 7th, 2006 under TV News. [ Comments: none ]

In his defense have you ever seen the size of a Florida roach? Those things are huge. I used to do the same scream and dance when I saw one of those things there!

(Thanks Michael)

ABC edits 9/11 movie
September 7th, 2006 under ABC. [ Comments: none ]

ABC’s upcoming five-hour docudrama "The Path to 9/11" is quickly becoming a political cause célèbre. The network has in recent days made changes to the film, set to air Sunday and Monday, after leading political figures, many of them Democrats, complained about bias and alleged inaccuracies. Meanwhile, a left-wing organization has launched a letter-writing campaign urging the network to "correct" or dump the miniseries, while conservative blogs have launched a vigorous defense."The Path to 9/11," whose large ensemble includes Harvey Keitel and Patricia Heaton, offers a panoramic sweep of the events leading up to the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The movie dramatizes what it deems intelligence and operational failures of the Clinton and Bush administrations, relying heavily on public records. Thomas Kean, the chairman of the 9/11 commission, served as a consultant. After a screening of the first episode in Washington last week, some audience members attacked the film’s depiction of the Clinton administration’s pursuit of Osama bin Laden. Among those unhappy was Richard Ben-Veniste, an attorney and member of the 9/11 commission whom some conservatives have dismissed as a Democratic attack dog. Richard A. Clarke, the former counterterrorism czar, has criticized the movie for suggesting that the Clinton administration was in a position to capture Bin Laden in 1998 but canceled the mission at the last minute. After much discussion, ABC executives and the producers toned down, but did not eliminate entirely, a scene that involved Clinton’s national security advisor, Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger, declining to give the order to kill Bin Laden, according to a person involved with the film who declined to be identified because of the sensitivities involved. "That sequence has been the focus of attention," the source said, adding: "These are very slight alterations."In addition, the network decided that the credits would say the film is based "in part" on the 9/11 commission report, rather than simply "based on" the bestselling report, as the producers originally intended.ABC, meanwhile, is tip-toeing away from the film’s version of events. In a statement, the network said the miniseries "is a dramatization, not a documentary, drawn from a variety of sources, including the 9/11 commission report, other published materials and from personal interviews."The statement adds: "The events that lead to 9/11 originally sparked great debate, so it’s not surprising that a movie surrounding those events has revived the debate. The attacks were a pivotal moment in our history that should never be forgotten and it’s fitting that the discussion continues."

Big Brother All-Stars’ Janelle is such a whiner
September 7th, 2006 under Big Brother- US. [ Comments: none ]

It very well could be Rob and Amber all over again. On the 24/7 live ‘Big Brother’ Internet feeds early Thursday morning, viewers learned that Mike ‘Boogie’ Malin has won the second part of the final Head of Household Competition.Mike’s win sets the stage for him to square off against Erika Landin, his rumoured girlfriend before coming into the house, in the final stage on tonight’s live eviction episode.Although the competition was blacked out on the feeds and was taped for tonight’s broadcast, when the feeds did return to the live happenings, Janelle Pierzina was complaining bitterly about Mike’s win.“That sucks. I think they (the producers) want him to win the whole thing. I know he was going to win it. Clearly, we don’t have arm strength. He got two full minutes faster than me,” Janelle told Erika as they discussed how the challenge involved being suspended in the air and moving around some sort of apparatus using upper-body strength. Some fans have speculated throughout the season that the producers were favouring Janelle in the various competitions.Despite Erika and Janelle joining forces after realizing they had both been manipulated by ChillTown (Mike and Will ‘Dr. Evil’ Kirby), it is unlikely that Erika or Mike would select the popular Janelle as their final two partner to face the jury.On the season finale next Tuesday, the seven-member jury will vote on the winner of ‘Big Brother: All-Stars’. The winner will take home $500,000 U.S. while the second-place finisher will pocket $50,000 U.S.

Jam!

She has won almost every competition and now because she loses the most important one she is whining like a little girl. I still think Mike is going to win because Janelle has made too many enemies in the sequester house and Erika is a floater and they all know that. But anything can happen and I hope it does!
