Spaceballs gets animated!
September 20th, 2006 under TV Scripted Prime Time. [ Comments: none ]

MGM is teaming with the G4 television network, Brooksfilms Limited, and Berliner Film Companie GmbH on the U.S. release of a new original television series based on the classic Mel Brooks comedy Spaceballs. Similar to the feature film, which parodied iconic science fiction movies, "Spaceballs: The Animated Series" will take the legendary Brooks satirical eye, spoofing the biggest blockbusters of today as well as every genre of entertainment from movies and reality TV to culture and politics. In the pilot episode of "Spaceballs: The Animated Series," the storyline will be similar to that of the movie, which was released theatrically in 1987. The evil Dark Helmet kidnaps Princess Vespa of the Planet Druidia. His dastardly plan: to blackmail her father, King Roland, into giving up his planet’s air to replenish the polluted Planet Spaceball, run by the fiendish President Skroob (to be voiced by Brooks). Princess Vespa’s dad hires Lone Starr and Barf to rescue the princess. After a battle with Dark Helmet, they rescue the princess and Planet Druidia. From there, they launch on a series of wild adventures across the Galaxy. The series will be produced by Berliner in association with Brooksfilms. Already in production, Berliner will produce 13 half-hour episodes, which will debut on G4 in Fall 2007.

OMG Steven Tyler is going to be on Monday’s Two and a Half Men!!!
September 20th, 2006 under Aerosmith, Chuck Lorre. [ Comments: none ]

Who is this Vod Kanockers?

Charlie finally tells Alan the truth about why he broke up with Mia, and a famous neighbor causes problems, on TWO AND A HALF MEN, Monday, Sept. 25 (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT), on the CBS Television Network. Alan feels guilty when he learns that Charlie and Mia didn’t tie the knot because she had wanted him and Jake to move out. Meanwhile, Charlie and his rock star neighbor don’t get along. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler makes a cameo appearance as Charlie’s next-door neighbor.

I hear this episode is funny as all hell! On a side note to people who have never seen this show; watch this episode and see how they use the title (Who is this Vod Kanockers?) in the show. Also make sure to read Chuck Lorre’s Vanity Card at the end of episode, it is some of the funniest stuff you will read on TV!

Now we know why Justin Timberlake was so pissed at the paparazzi
September 20th, 2006 under Bad Paparazzi, Justin/Cameron. [ Comments: none ]

Cameron Diaz has filed a police report charging a photographer with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly trying to hit her and boyfriend Justin Timberlake with his car. "On Sept. 19, just after midnight, Cameron Diaz filed a report with the LAPD," officer April Harding tells PEOPLE. "The incident happened on the 1600 block of King Road in Hollywood." According to the actress’s report, "Diaz and Justin Timberlake were leaving a friend’s home when a photographer hiding in the bushes tried to take a photograph of her," Harding says. "They both then chased the photographer for a short distance. "The photographer then got into his car and drove toward both them, causing Diaz to jump out of the car’s way. She felt the driver was trying to hit both of them, and so she filed the report. She’s alleging assault with a deadly weapon, with a vehicle." Harding continued, "No arrests were made. We currently have no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing." On Wednesday, photo agency X17, for which the photographer in question was working, posted a statement on its Web site saying that the photos were taken on a public street and that "the pictures show … at least two people verbally and physically assaulting" the photographer. In the statement, the agency says the photographer was not trying to run Diaz over with his car but was in fact "attempting to leave what he perceived to be a dangerous situation for him and when he tried to do so, Ms. Diaz and at least one other member of her entourage stood in front of his car in an attempt to entrap him." According to the agency, "The photographer is currently in the process of filing a complaint against Ms. Diaz and Mr. Timberlake."

The CW starts off with a big protest
September 20th, 2006 under Tyra Banks, WB+UPN=CW. [ Comments: none ]

There are reasons why I need to bring my camera with me where ever I go in this city. So as I am driving in, I noticed all this traffic on Beverly Blvd and I was complexed to know why? As I get closer to the enterance of CBS I saw all these people in red shirts chanting, "What do we want?" "Contracts" over and over. And this lightbulb goes off in my head, today is the day that WGA was organizing a protest against CBS and The CW for not granting contracts to the writing staff of America’s Next Top Model. I have to say I was sincerely impressed with the turnout for the protest. They were actually blocking the enterance in to CBS on Beverly, in fact I would say there had to be over 250 people making their message heard to the heads of CBS. What I found ironic is the CW offices are located in Burbank and not on the CBS TV Center lot. But the WGA offices are located across the street from the CBS lot, so I guess it worked in that aspect. It will be interesting to see if their protest worked, but knowing how many people in this town would work on a reality show with or without a contract I doubt they will have much success. Sadly enough.
If you want to read the WGA’s letter to their members about the protest you can do so here
