Charges dropped against Lost’s Mr. Eko
September 27th, 2006 under Lost. [ Comments: none ]

Traffic charges against Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje of ABC’s "Lost" were dropped after defense attorneys proved he has a driver’s license. Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who plays Mr. Eko on the drama series, was charged with driving without a license and disobeying a police officer after he was taken into custody Sept. 2 in Waikiki. Attorneys for the actor proved Tuesday in district court that he has a driver’s license. Following his arrest, Akinnuoye-Agbaje spent about six hours in jail before being released on $500 bail.

I guess that means he won’t be killed off like the other two cast members who were arrested last year in Hawaii for DUI?

Kate Moss caught on camera again doing a no-no
September 27th, 2006 under Pete Doherty/Kate Moss. [ Comments: none ]

Kate Moss faces prosecution again. Not for snorting cocaine (allegedly) but for puffing on a cigarette. She was caught on camera flouting Ireland’s strict smoking ban at a concert where her boyfriend Pete Doherty was performing with his band Babyshambles. The supermodel, wearing the skimpiest of black dresses, was singing on stage with Doherty when she took conspicuous puffs on a cigarette which was dangling in her hand. Doherty was also seen to be smoking constantly throughout the gig at the Music Factory, in Carlow, Co Carlow. Moss, 32, now faces a 3,000 euro fine — about £2,000 — for what would appear to be a violation of Ireland’s smoking ban, which came into effect in March 2004. Not that a successful prosecution is guaranteed. The last time Moss was caught misbehaving on camera — apparently snorting cocaine during a Babyshambles studio recording session — she subsequently escaped charges. While prosecutors suspected that she was taking an illegal substance, they could not be sure whether it was a class A drug such as cocaine or a lesser drug such as amphetamines. The result: after a nine-month police investigation, Moss walked free and her earnings sky-rocketed. She and Doherty are rumoured to be planning to get married but looked less than lovestruck last night in Dublin. Doherty, 27, who has just completed a drugs rehab stint at The Priory clinic, was sporting a black eye and looked exhausted — this was before he had even gone on stage at the Ambassador Theatre for a second gig.

I love that all these former drug addicts are getting done in by cigs?

Fantasia’s dad says her autobiography lied about him
September 27th, 2006 under American Idol 1-5, Books. [ Comments: none ]

Joseph Barrino, the father of American Idol season-three winner Fantasia Barrino, has filed a $10 million libel lawsuit against Simon & Schuster over his portrayal in Fantasia – Life Is Not a Fairy Tale, his daughter’s 2005 book about her early years and rise to stardom. The book contains damaging untruths about him, Barrino claims in the suit, including that he couldn’t support his family, sacrificed his kids’ education to pursue music careers for them and asks Fantasia for money. The suit seeks $10 million in damages to "vindicate and restore the reputation of Plaintiff Joseph Barrino," a truck driver who lives in Greensboro, N.C. Fantasia is not named in the motion. The suit charges that the information in the book came primarily from a ghostwriter and from Addie Collins, Fantasia’s maternal grandmother. This is not the first controversy surrounding Life Is Not a Fairy Tale. The producers of Idol objected to their portrayal in a TV movie of the book that aired on Lifetime in August. In particular, they denied the adaptation’s claim that they’d urged Fantasia to withdraw from the competition because – as an unwed mother and high-school drop-out – she was not a suitable role model. Also, some residents of Fantasia’s High Point, N.C., hometown were upset with the depiction of their city in the book.

People

Seriosuly did anyone in this family read the book before it was published? And yes I will refrain from making any jokes about how could Fantasia read it you know since she can’t read.

Dustin “Screech” Diamond has a sex tape
September 27th, 2006 under Saved by the Bell/City Guys. [ Comments: none ]

He may have played nerdy eighth-grader Samuel (Screech) Powers in the sitcom "Saved by the Bell." But former TV geek Dustin Diamond can now take his place with Colin Farrell, Tommy Lee and Kid Rock as the star of his very own sex tape. Everyone who remembers Diamond as a lovable putz is in for a shock once they see a 40-minute video in which he engages in a kinky three-way with two women, sources tell us. We can’t get too graphic here, but word is that the action includes some bodily functions and an act known as a "Dirty Sanchez." Phoenix-based agent David Hans Schmidt, who has brokered some of Hollywood’s biggest celebrity-skin deals, confirms that he’s acquired the rights to a tape featuring Diamond. "Just when you think you have seen everything in this business," he tells us, "mankind has raised the bar another notch. Or lowered it." Schmidt is in L.A., shopping the tape to Hustler’s Larry Flynt, Vivid’s Steven Hirsch and other major distributors of adult video. Now age 29, the 6-foot Diamond is much brawnier than you may remember him. He’s a black belt in karate, and, four years ago, he defeated Ron Palillo (Horshack on "Welcome Back, Kotter") on Fox’s "Celebrity Boxing 2." Diamond’s manager, Roger Paul, said his client has become a successful standup comic and will appear on the ABC sitcom "The Knights of Prosperity." "I haven’t seen the tape," Paul told us. "I’ve heard rumors. Dustin has been trying to escape the Screech typecast. So this may help me get more bookings." In 1996, former "Saved by the Bell" sweetheart Elizabeth Berkley bared all in the Paul Verhoeven-Joe Eszterhas trashterpiece, "Show Girls." The sex vid’s working title is "Saved by the Smell." Ewwwww.

Rush & Molloy

Ewww Ewww Ewww. Now that I am done throwing up, I just have to say, Yuck. And you know after that whole mortgage/T-Shirt scandal, you know he was the one who sold the tape to this guy. Seriously, who else besides that Schmidt guy is going to pay to see that tape? Ewww Ewww Ewww.
