Sir Paul McCartney has assured his old friend Ringo Starr he is coping well with the trauma of his marriage split with wife Heather. The Beatles legend told his former bandmate: ‘I’ll be alright.’ A friend told the Daily Mirror: ‘Ringo asked him ‘Are you alright?’ and Paul replied ‘I’m fine’. Ringo seemed really concerned and said ‘Are you sure?’ Paul smiled at him, touched his arm and said ‘I’ll be all right.’"The pair were reunited at the premiere of Las Vegas extravaganza Love, which is based around the Beatles’ music The show’s producers were delighted 64-year-old Sir Paul turned up for the premiere and party afterwards. John Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono also spoke of her sadness for Sir Paul over the break-up. However, she stressed her support for Heather Mills. "I feel very bad for her. I know better than anyone what it’s like being a Beatle wife, nobody gives you an easy time. "The thing I keep remembering is how, just before Heather gave birth to her and Paul’s daughter, he told me how happy he was. He actually said: ‘I feel like I’ve been given a second life.’"They were really in love and it’s very sad it hasn’t worked out."It was Sir Paul’s first public appearance since he split from wife Heather.

FIVE orphan kids who are suing ABC and "Extreme Make over Home Edition" are a step closer to a legal showdown with the tear-jerker show and the family that tossed them out of their renovated home.A California appeals court has ruled that the Higgins family – five orphans ranging in age from 14 to 21 years old – can take their heart-breaking case before a jury. In a show that aired on Easter Sunday last year, "Extreme Makeover" re-did the California home of the Leomitis family – with three children of their own – who took in the Higgins children because they were members of the same church. But the Higgins kids were evicted soon after the renovations, which expanded the little home to nine bedrooms. Because the Higgins family did not own the house, they had no legal claim. The network declined to help them and – when the kids sued last August – said the 24-page contract that the orphans signed required them to go to arbitration, which usually ends with the two parties splitting the difference. The court in California ruled the arbitration clause is "unconscionable" and "unenforceable" and that the case can go to trial.

Seriously? OMG! WTF? The Leomitis family should be forced to live in a one bedroom apartment and the Higgins should get the house.

Elvis seemed like a neat guy |

ELVIS PRESLEY was so fond of practical jokes he once cheekily dropped his pants in front of LED ZEPPELIN star JOHN PAUL JONES. The late rock ‘n’ roll legend, welcoming a group of guests to his home dressed only in pyjama bottoms and a robe, invited Jones to switch trousers before stunning the group with a glimpse of his privates. Former pal JERRY SCHILLING recalls the hilarious incident in new book ME AND A GUY NAMED ELVIS explaining, "(Elvis) stood, eyed John, and said, ‘Let’s swap pants,’ while simultaneously, in expert (MONTY) PYTHON fashion, letting his pyjama bottoms drop beneath his robe. John burst out laughing. Nobody accepted Elvis’ offer." Other favourite gags included wowing friends with almost faultless recitations of his best-loved film scripts, including DR STRANGELOVE, Monty Python movies and ACROSS 110TH STREET. Schilling says of 1972 blaxploitation film Across 110th Street, "He began to act out the whole movie, setting up each scene and then presenting just about every line of dialogue in the script. "He brought each character to life with walks, vocal mannerisms and the subtlest of gestures. (He) didn’t stop until he got to the final scene of the film."

WILMER VALDERRAMA is being coached on how to ride a motorcycle by former CHiPS star ERIK ESTRADA as he prepares for his part in the upcoming big screen version of the TV classic. Estrada played FRANK ‘PONCH’ PONCHERELLO during the motorcycle cop show’s five-year run between 1977 and 1982, and his character is now being brought back to life by Valderrama. THAT ‘70S SHOW star Valderrama says, "Erik loves the fact that I’m doing the movie. He said, ‘I couldn’t ever imagine anybody else playing me but you.’ "He’s been teaching me all these motorcycle skills and things. "It’s going to be a lot of fun but like Erik’s show it will have a serious side, some great action and a lot of heart."

What is the real reason Hoff pulled out of Captain Hook? |

Former BAYWATCH star DAVID HASSELHOFF dumped his role as stage villain CAPTAIN HOOK for a seat alongside TV baddie SIMON COWELL. The actor was lined up to star in children’s favourite PETER PAN in an English pantomime production this Christmas (06) but unexpectedly pulled out of the show last month (JUN06). Now he reveals the decision was not due to a hectic schedule, as previously reported, but because he got offered a better deal by the acid-tongued pop mogul to judge a new US TV talent show. He says, "I wanted to do the show for my children, because my daughter was going to play WENDY. "That’s the only reason I was going to do it. Anyway, I got offered this part in AMERICA’S GOT TALENT with SIMON COWELL and decided to take that instead. "But I’d love to come back and do it again, perhaps next year (07)."
