A story made in Hollywood…
June 18th, 2006 under Old Hollywood. [ Comments: none ]

CHARLIE CHAPLIN’s actress granddaughter KIERA has cancelled her wedding to COUNT ALEXANDER DE BASSEVILLE after he was arrested in the US for conspiracy to distribute the drug ecstasy.
Chaplin, 23, has been dating the French financier – her partner in production company Limelight Films – for six years and stood by him after he suffered a stroke last year (05).
But she immediately called off their nuptials after the arrest.
A close friend, stylist MOHIEB DAHABIEH, says, "This is a very difficult time for Kiera. She has absolutely nothing to do with the charges and just wants to move on with her life now."

Word is they have picked out an engagement ring. An "insider" told Life & Style they chose the ring four months ago from jeweler Suzy Fabrikant. It is a 7 carat Asher cut diamond set in platinum with pave diamonds on the band. Price tag: 300K

Lots of details hmm? They claim a friend of Timberlakes has confirmed the impending nuptials: "They’ve been engaged for awhile, but now Justin is ready to do it. They’re planning to have a very small wedding in Hawaii during the summer.

Not sure if I trust Life & Style, but I hope it is true. They seem happy and one of the few couple that will make it until death they do part.

McCartney’s grandchildren recorded When I am 64 for his B-Day…
June 18th, 2006 under Paul McCartney/Heather Mills. [ Comments: none ]

Seriously, how precious is that?

SIR PAUL MCCaRTNEY’S grandchildren have recorded their very own version of BEATLES hit WHEN I’M SIXTY-FOUR as a 64th birthday gift for him. MARY and STELLA – his children with late wife LINDA – sneaked into the iconic Abbey Road studios in London with their kids ARTHUR, seven, ELLIOT, four and Stella’s one year old son MILLER to record the track, with the help of Beatles producer SIR GEORGE MARTIN’s son GILES. It will be played to Sir Paul at an intimate family party at his estate in East Sussex, England tonight (18JUN06) – in a bid to cheer him up after his split from wife HEATHER MILLS. A family friend reveals, "Stella and Mary know exactly how down in the dumps Paul has been feeling. The trauma of the break-up and then the shock of finding out more about Heather’s past left him shell-shocked and at his most gloomy in years. "But they are determined to put a smile back on his face for his birthday and thought this would be the perfect way. His marriage to Heather is over but they want him to know he still has his family who are utterly devoted to him."

We still love you at 64…

Even if Heather Mills doesn’t.

Happy 64th!

It’s so low-key as Sir Paul hits 64

by ELIZABETH SANDERSON and LOUISA PRICHARD, Mail on Sunday

As birthdays go, it is unlikely to be his best. Instead, Sir Paul McCartney has opted for a remarkably low-key celebration to mark turning 64.

He will be joined by family today for a quiet barbecue at his £4million home in Peasmarsh, Sussex.

However, one person will most definitely not be present – his estranged wife Heather.

Until last month, he had been sharing the sprawling estate with the former model. They have since separated and she is battling allegations that she was once a prostitute.

Reports that she was hoping for an invitation to Sir Paul’s muted birthday celebrations have been denied by friends, though he will see his twoyearold daughter Beatrice who was dropped off with him on Friday night.

One source said of Heather: "She will not be going to Paul’s tomorrow. It would ruin the day and there’s no way that she would do that. She’s hardly going to stand in the kitchen and chat.

She and Bea have been making things all week for Father’s Day and Bea will stay with him for the whole weekend."

As Sir Paul celebrates his birthday, Heather is staying with friends.

Now weighing just seven stone, she is wheelchair-bound and faces the prospect of being unable to wear a prosthetic limb if her muscles waste.

The source added: "She’s in a very dire place at the moment. But she and Paul are in touch every day and she will speak to him on his birthday."

A friend close to Sir Paul said: "It’s going to be a very private affair with just family. On previous birthdays he’s invited people he’s worked with, but this year it’s going to be tighter."

His daughters, designer Stella, 33, and photographer Mary, 36, will travel to Sussex today for the barbecue.

Also present will be his son James, adopted daughter Heather and his brother Mike.

Sadly, the muted celebrations will be far from the optimism Sir Paul showed in the Beatles song When I’m Sixty Four, released when he was just 25.

File this under so cute…

Arctic Monkeys have purchased fake IDs in America.

In a country ridiculous enough to appoint George Bush as president and stipulate that everyone over the age of six should own a gun, it is still illegal to drink alcohol until you reach the age of 21.

But rather than accepting their unfortunate plight, Arctic Monkeys – all aged 19 or 20 – have purchased fake IDs, reports the Daily Star.

Jamie Cook (guitarist) said: "We’ve all had to buy fake ID cards for ourselves off a couple of students at one of our gigs. It’s either that or don’t go out and get stuck in, which isn’t really on."

"We’ve got away with it so far and no one’s questioned us at the bar, even though the pictures on them don’t look like us at all," he added.

Naughty boys!…
