Kate Winslet attended the Oscars without her husband, Sam Mendes and now we know why. The Oscar winners announced their split via their lawyers today according to
BBC.
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
The two were married on May 24, 2003 and have one son, Joe Alfie together that was born later that year.
Now that Kate is no longer with her husband, that frees her up to date her two-time co-star Leonardo DiCaprio. How awesome would it be if the Titanic stars got together? They should totally get married on a ship!

In the end, winning an Oscar is poison to ALL relationships!
These two divorce & Schwimmer gets married for the 1st time. Lets see how long it is before Schwimmer gets his divorce. Some of these Friends are turning out very similar to their characters on the show. Only time will tell . . .
And I loved them both together, Winslet & Mendes! This is another sad day. I thought they would’ve made it. Oh well, another one bites the dust . . .
