Barbra Streisand was supposed to accept the Honorary Palme d’Or award at Cannes’ Closing Ceremony on May 23rd. However, she is not able to make the trip to France.
Her people released this statement: “On the advice of my doctors, as I continue recovering from a knee injury, I am sadly unable to attend the Festival de Cannes this year, says Barbra Streisand. But I am deeply honored to receive the Honorary Palme d’or and had so been looking forward to celebrating the remarkable films of the 79th edition. I was also very much looking forward to spending time with colleagues whom I so admire – and, of course, returning to France, a place I have always loved. While I regret that I can’t be there in person, I want to extend my warmest congratulations to all of the filmmakers from around the world whose extraordinary talent and creative vision are being celebrated this year. My heartfelt thanks to the Festival, and to everyone who continues to support and champion the art of cinema.”
Hopefully, she will be better soon and kicking ass with the injured leg.

How do I know that? Because yesterday, the drummer took the actor’s Saturday Night Live monologue hostage. And people all over the country were like, “What happened to Will Ferrell?” That was until the Anchorman came out, and we found ourselves seeing double.
Thus proving the edible kicked in. That, and they are two different people!
For years, *NSYNC has been teasing us with a reunion, but they have never given us a definitive answer on when, or if, it will happen.
Recently, Joey Fatone appeared on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast, and the America’s Got Talent Judge asked him if it is happening.
Without hesitation, the singer said, “As of right now, no.”
Then he went on to explain that he, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, J.C. Chasez, and Justin Timberlake have other things going on with their lives, like young kids and solo projects, they are too old, and they can’t decide what to do if they were to reunite. As Fatone said, “Everyone is all over the place. They’re not in sync.”
And that is why the Backstreet Boys are, were, and will always be a better band. They care more about their fans than about themselves.
I mean, Joey said it is not totally out of the cards. They will revisit in, like, a decade. But by then, it will be like the Pussycat Dolls, as in who cares? Do you even care now?
Granted, they could reunite sooner. How? If they need the money. Money is always the biggest deciding factor with reunions like this one or for the Spice Girls.
Final thought. I think that Timberlake is always the one saying no to any type of reunion. I can see him thinking he is too big to do one. When in reality, it would probably help his image, which has completely tanked since that Janet Jackson moment at the Super Bowl.

Kiefer Sutherland was slated to bring his Love Will Bring You Home Tour to the US next month. However, he told his fans today that they can stay home if they bought tickets to one of his concerts.
He wrote: “With great disappointment I am going to have to cancel the US leg of my tour due to very low ticket sales.
“I don’t think it’s fair to the people who have bought tickets, or the venues, to play to half empty houses.
“I look forward to touring the United States again at a more suitable time.
“I hope you understand.”
The actor is not the only one who was forced to do this. The Pussycat Dolls also pulled out of their US reunion tour due to the same issue.
You can blame donald trump, Ticketmaster, and record label greed for making it too expensive to go to a concert this summer. Who can afford to go to a concert when the price of tickets is hundreds of dollars before service fees? And then add in the cost of gas; people have no choice but to forego a familiar pastime.
I expect more tours will cancel their dates in the United States for the same reason. But how many will admit it like Sutherland did?
The singer will be releasing his newest album, Grey, on May 29th.
