Ted Danson is coming back to television in November
August 23rd, 2024 under Ted Danson Mary Steenburgen. [ Comments: none ]

Colleen E. Hayes/Netflix

Ted Danson has been a staple on our television since Cheers debuted in 1982. However, he hasn’t had a leading role since The Mayor ended in 2022.

But that will change in November because the actor will reteam with The Good Place’s creator, Mike Schur, for Netflix’s Man on the Inside.

Charles (Danson), a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a PI and becomes a mole in a secret investigation. The comedy is based on the documentary The Mole Agent, a 2021 Oscar® nominee for Best Documentary feature.

I can’t wait to watch this show because Danson and Schur are brilliant together. But then again, Danson is always brilliant in whatever he does. That is why we love him so much.

TNT check out The Librarians: The Next Chapter from The CW

In May, The CW announced that they were picking up The Librarians sequel for the Fall. But then, last week, the broadcast network announced that The Wranglers was replacing The Librarians: The Next Chapter. However, they did not say when the Sci-Fi procedural would air.

Today, we found out that the series was picked up by its original network, TNT aired the franchise’s three movies and four seasons, which starred Noah Wyle and Rebecca Romijn.

According to Deadline, TNT, who got out of the scripted business, is getting back into it with this show and Debriefing The President.

I think what TNT is doing is dynamite! The Next Chapter will do much better on their network than on The CW.

It’s Pumpkin Spice time at Starbucks
August 22nd, 2024 under Fast Food. [ Comments: none ]

We might be sweating our asses off because of the summer heat, but Starbucks has already transitioned to Fall.

Today, the coffee shop started selling their Pumpkin Spice themed items.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte is back for its 20th year, and it is not alone. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai, the Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato, and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso are also back. Joining the drink menu is the New Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai.

“We are excited to introduce the new Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai to our customers,” said Rosalyn Batingan, Starbucks beverage developer. “This beverage perfectly captures the taste and feeling of fall. We have combined creamy oatmilk with notes of cinnamon, clove and other warm baking spices from our chai tea to compliment the layered flavors of apple, cinnamon and brown sugar which are infused into the nondairy cold foam topping.”

I don’t know about you, but I know where I am getting my tea tomorrow morning.

BTWF: Paul Feig in The $25,000 Pyramid
August 22nd, 2024 under Before They Were Famous. [ Comments: none ]

Before Paul Feig produced and directed Jackpot, he won the jackpot three times on The $25,000 Pyramid. How endearing was the 23-year-old in that 1986 episode?

Feig wrote this about winning run on the game show, “Oh man. 1985. I made it four days on the Pyramid and won $29,000 which allowed me to quit my job and pursue my standup career. My opening joke was ‘I am so mad at Supercuts!’ Maybe I’ll bring my flattop back.”

Imagine if he didn’t win all of that money. We might not have gotten Freaks and Geeks, Bridesmaids, and the all-female version of Ghostbusters.
