Joan Rivers was being interviewed by CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield, and the comedian wasn’t happy with it, so she got up and walked out.Rivers has made a career making fun of people, but if you call her on that, it seems like she will get up and walk away.
When Fredricka asked her about being mean on Fashion Police, Rivers said she’s making fun of their clothes and not the person in them. Then Joan explained, the celebrities whose threads she goes off on are in a different bracket and don’t care what she says because they make millions of dollars.
When that line of questioning wasn’t working out, the anchor took it in a different direction. She then asked Joan about the fur coat she’s wearing on the cover of her new book. Joan responded by calling the host a hypocrite because she’s wearing leather shoes. Which I think was Joan deferring from that line of questioning.
Finally when Whitfield asked her about hearing those type of comments at press conferences, Joan had enough, got up and walked away from what she considered a negative interview.
And here, I was thinking she was in one of those brackets of the people’s who clothes she makes fun of. So shouldn’t she just sit there, grin and bear it? I mean, she is so quick dish it, and even quicker not to take it. Which I personally find very hypocritical.
Now, when it comes to Whitfield, how annoying was her fake smile and laugh throughout the whole interview. Maybe Joan was correct about her not being the right person to interview someone who does “humor” for a living.
