February 19th, 2007 under Ads, Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson’s advertisement for satellite providers DirecTV has been taken off screen while a false advertising lawsuit is prepared. Manhattan judge Laura Taylor Swain has pulled the ad while DirecTV legal representatives defends the company against a lawsuit from Time Warner Cable, who disputes the ad’s claim DirecTV’s satellite broadcasting is superior to cable. In the commercial Simpson advises, “Hey, 253 straight days at the gym to get this body and you’re not going to watch me on DirecTV HD? “You’re just not going to get the best picture out of some fancy big-screen TV without DirecTV. It’s broadcast in 1080i. I totally don’t know what that means, but I want it.

I am so glad they pulled that commercial because I hated it. It was so cheaply done, don’t you think?
