Chicago Fire is entering its 13th season in the Fall. So, it would make sense that some of the actors would like to move on and do something different. Several stars, including Jesse Spencer, Lauren Herman, and Kara Kilmer, have departed the first responders procedural.

Today, Deadline is reporting that another OG is stepping down. Eamonn Walker, who plays Chief Boden, will no longer be a series regular. However, he will most likely appear in a few episodes in the future.

Deadline says it was his decision to be a part-time player. As for how we will say goodbye to his character, this is the description for May 22nd’s season finale: “Boden makes a decision that impacts the race for Deputy Commissioner.”

I can’t say I blame him. His character hasn’t been used much in the last few seasons. And how many times can he save Firehouse 51?

It will be interesting to see who will replace him in the firehouse. I just hope it is not someone who is trying to close it down again. That storyline is boring at this point.

When it comes to Walker, I cannot wait to see what he does next.
