It used to be that we didn’t talk about Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Now, we start talking about it around Labor Day. And that takes away from the best holiday of the year, Halloween. Even Mariah Carey knows to wait to unfreeze herself until the day after we go trick-or-treating.
Because of Christmas starting earlier and earlier, CBS thinks we are ready to talk about what we want to watch on New Year’s Eve on October 6th. We don’t. But that didn’t stop them.
Today, they announced that Lainey Wilson, Bailey Zimmerman, and scaredy cat Jason Aldean as the lead performers at this year’s New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash. CeCe Winans and the Fisk Jubilee Singers will be special guests singing during the countdown to 2026.
The five-hour live bash will be held at Nashville’s Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park,
More names will be announced in the upcoming weeks, and that is a good thing because the special concert needs them.
And in the future, CBS needs to wait until Mariah is defrosted before revealing their NYE plans. Because there are too many things we are focusing on, it’s hard to remember or care about what to do on the night of December 31st.
