Young & Hungry cooks up its final season starting in June
March 15th, 2018 under Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

June is a time for weddings and the start of something fabulous, but for Young & Hungry it is the beginning of the end. That is because Freeform announced today that the second part of their fifth season will be their farewell one and it will debut on June 20th.

What can we expect with the final episodes? We get to see Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) and Gabi (Emily Osment) taking their relationship to a whole new level now that they are in both in love with each other at the same time. Yolanda (Kym Whitley) and Elliot (Rex Lee) are dealing with the new dynamic at Josh’s apartment. Back at Gabi’s place, her roommate Sofia (Aimee Carrero) gets tired of a being the third wheel to the new lovers, so she looks for her own soul mate.

It sounds like not everything will be answered in the final episodes, therefore Freeform is working on movie to wrap things up.

I am so saddened over this news because I loved this show. It kept getting funnier with each episode and I always looked forward to watching it. It never failed to make me smile every week.

I just don’t get why Freeform keeps cancelling their good shows and replaces them with crap. For example, Alone Together is one of the worst shows ever made for television and yet that is airing, and Baby Daddy isn’t and Young & Hungry is ending. Freeform’s loss will be other networks win because this is a talented cast will move on to new projects for us to enjoy them on.

I would say I would boycott Freeform over the cancellation, but there is nothing left for me to watch on their network. What about you?

When did Emily Osment get those abs?
October 3rd, 2017 under Haley Joel and Emily Osment, Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

Emily Osment might star on Young & Hungry, but in a bikini the young actress looks anything but hungry. She has six pack abs that will make beer at a swimming party get jealous. Who knew the cute girl from Hannah Montana has a body like that? Freeform should free them on the show if they want to get higher ratings. And I want that sitcom to get higher ratings because I love it and want more seasons of it. Will you watch it now?

Emily Osment is clowning around!
May 1st, 2017 under Haley Joel and Emily Osment, Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

One of the things that makes Young & Hungry so hilarious every Monday night at 8p on Freeform is Emily Osment’s comedic ability. In some ways she is a lot like Lucille Ball because she knows how to use her face to get people to laugh with her. Plus, she knows how to make a funny line even funnier. That is why I think this photo of her looking like a sad clown is the perfect image for her. Not many people can pull off tears of a clown as well as she can. Therefore make sure to check her out tonight, on a sitcom that is like watching a puzzle. All the pieces fit together in the end.

Betty White is Young & Hungry on tonight’s Valentine’s episode!
March 20th, 2017 under Betty White, Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

I never could put in to words why I love Young & Hungry so much until tonight’s episode. You have to think of the show as a jigsaw puzzle you are trying to put together. You find a piece and then another one and think they go together but they don’t. You keep building the puzzle until you are finished and then you have one beautiful piece that all fits together. Then you are so happy you spent all that time doing it. That is what it is like watching an episode of the Freeform sitcom.

Tonight at 8p, they are all getting several surprises on the Valentine’s Day episode. Gabi (Emily Osment) makes a special dinner for Alan (Bryan Safi) to surprise his husband, Elliott (Rex Lee), for their first Valentine’s Day as husband and husband. When Elliott sees the box, Yolanda (Kym Whitley) tells him that Gabi bought it for Josh (Jonathan Sadowski). When Josh comes into the room, Elliot tells his boss that Gabi bought him something for the holiday, even though they agreed not to get each other anything. Now Josh, is looking for something to get Gabi, who really didn’t buy him anything. They aren’t the only ones, Elliott didn’t buy anything for Alan because he didn’t think he had to. Now do you see how this puzzle is starting to shape up?

Well Josh, takes Gabi to the best restaurant in San Francisco and lies about his reservation to get them in. Something happens at their dinner that sends her running home to Yolanda (Kym Whitley) and Sofia (Aimee Carrero) times, shares some words of wisdom with her new friend.

Eventually, things will all work out and that stripper will show up! I don’t know who gets to enjoy him more, Betty White or us watching her watching him. That final moment is as satisfying as when you put that final piece in the puzzle. And with that the puzzle is completed.

On that note of watching White, I recently visited the set of the show and three of the cast members told me what it was to like to work with her. Whitley described her presence as, “To watch her and to watch people watching her that was the fun part. Watching everyone from camera operators to sound men to PAs to craft services. Everyone is just standing around just like, ‘OMG! OMG! Look at them.’” She is Betty White and people are just enamored to be in her presence. Whitley said this about working with, “I will say it was one of those memories of time that you just you take pictures. You try to get some wisdom from her.” What was wisdom did she get from the legend? “Her wisdom was always funny. She would crack a joke so fast that if I asked her something serious, she had a joke.”

Osment, who grew up watching Miss White on TV Land, talked about her sense of humor, “She is just so sweet. She is crass and funny and she is making dick jokes all the time.” The Golden Girl has a lot of one liners tonight, that you are not going to want to miss. Her chemistry with Osment is so spot on that I am glad she will be around to do at least one more episode on the show.

Finally, Sadowski also talked about his guest star and he told me, “It is amazing to share the stage with a legend like that, you can’t put into words. Like everything she says is funny and every line she does is comedic genius. Literally everyone.”

And that is why at 95 she is still going strong. And talking about comedic geniuses that is why Young & Hungry is still going strong after 3 seasons. If you have seen this show, you know what I am talking about. If you haven’t, then find out tonight by watching it and Baby Daddy and then catch up on the series on Netflix and the Freeform app. I promise you will eat this show up like I do!

Young & Hungry is back wilder than ever before!
March 13th, 2017 under Young and Hungry. [ Comments: none ]

Last season, when Young & Hungry ended, Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) and Gabi (Emily Osment) came up with a punch card system. Basically, the on-again, off-again couple have a card and they punch it every time they want to have no-feeling sex with each other. When they have punched all the holes, then they go back to being friends. Tonight, on its new night, at 8p, they are still punching that card on the Freeform sitcom.

Can they maintain a carefree relationship? When it comes to these two nothing is carefree. Something happens to Josh that makes him think Gabi is cheating on him. She catches him taking pictures of his junk and now she thinks he is cheating on her. It’s like a he saw, she saw thing and when they finally see each other eye to eye, things go horribly bad between them. Now it is up to Yolanda (Kym Whitley) and Elliott (Rex Lee) to save the day.

When it comes to the latter two, something wacky happens to Elliot that causes him to blackmail Yolanda. The two of them come to a compromise and now they are in cahoots with each other and that is not good for Josh.

Tonight’s episode so brilliantly weaved together, it is incredible to watch how it all is connected. I love the genius behind the scenes and in front of the camera. It is just a joy to watch the masterminds at work.

Talking about that, I recently visited the set and they told me what is coming up this season. Osment told me that Josh and her take their relationship to a whole new level. Which might have to do with the fact that someone mistakes their punch card for a yogurt card and all the holes get punched. Sadowski revealed to me that he is going to meet his estranged father and he comes out to him. What? You will just have to watch the episode to find out what that means. Finally, Whitley says that there is a squirrel involved with her torturing Elliott in some form of the way. In other words, another hilarious season filled with lots and lots of hi-jinx and sex!
