Chris Pine was on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday and the two of them were talking about all this music. Like going to concerts with their parents when they were kids and who is the best drummer in music? Then the I Am Night Star admitted he was in a band when he was in school and one of the songs he sang was Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice.
Then, the ABC host asked him he could still sing the song. Once you get those lyrics in your head (something I know because I lived in Miami around that time), they never go away. As you can see, Pine can still pretty much sing the first verse word for word. Rob Van Winkle would be proud proud baby.
Back when I lived in Miami, my friends and I would scream out every word from Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby whenever it came on. I thought it was just something that people in the 305 did, but turns out it is not.
Yesterday on The Late Late Show, James Corden asked Dominic Monaghan who his first concert was and he told him it was MC Hammer. Then the Lost star told him that Hammer and Vanilla were his jam back then and to this day Ice Ice Baby is his go to Karaoke song. The CBS late night host asked him if he knew the words and he told them that he does. Then the two Brits belted out the first part of the song in the 323.
Proving that the song is still a Global hit over 25 years after it came out of A1A Beachfront Ave. Seriously, how impressive it is that they knew all the words off the top of their heads like that?
BTW am I the only person wondering why Charlie didn’t sing that song on the Island?

It didn’t occur to me until now, but Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby is the perfect song for the Ice Age franchise. Well, I guess 20th Century Fox finally came to their sense and asked him to perform it during their showing at CinemaCon yesterday.
No word if the song will be in Ice Age: Collision Course when the movie comes out on July 22nd, but we do know that Neil deGrasse Tyson’s voice will be heard in it. Which is as cool as Ice.
Vanilla Ice was entering a place when all of sudden, something perfect was rolling towards him. Not a 5.0, but a cart full of ice ice baby! So no matter where Rob Van Winkle goes, ice gravitates towards him. Not a bad thing when you live in hot Florida.
All right stop, collaborate and listen, Vanilla Ice was seen inside a truck transporting several bags of ice and he was holding two of them. All that he is missing is a baby. If there was a little child in there, then it truly it would be Ice Ice Baby! Word to your mother!
