You can tell it is sweeps when Soaps do the weirdest things like explosions, killing a big character off, having big couple wedding, some C-List singer performing on the show or have the virgin couple finally do it. As the years have gone on there are only so many places that can be blown up again, killing Stefano again or marry off Erica Kane again. So now they are trying new things like same-sex couples’ next stages and abortions, but none of the above could have prepared me for the current storyline on As The World Turns…sperm donor. That is so a sitcom storyline 20 years ago. And how much do you want to bet in May the father of the baby will be her arch-enemy, her brother, an alien or all of the above.
BTW did I mention of I love sweeps months for Soaps!!!
After 45 years General Hospital's hospital is getting a new look according to AP! The current storyline of a toxin spreading through the hospital will lead into the new look for the place!
"This story really became an opportunity to take a shot at revising the look of the hospital and refreshing it," said executive producer Jill Farren Phelps. "It felt like the right time to update it. The style of the nurses' station has been the same for 45 years. In daytime, space is money. This new version will incorporate a lot of usable new space."
"It will have a very different look," Farren Phelps said. "We want it to feel like you are walking into a place that feels fresh and modern. It will still be inside the same hospital. It will have the same architecture, but it will no longer be that big round nurses' station we've become nostalgic about over the years."
The Quarternaine's will pay for the makeover which makes me wonder if Monica who was in the operating room when the toxin was released is the one who will die and the family does it in her honor? The new set will make its debut in April and I can't wait to see it!!!
After two weeks of great episodes of General Hospital where they turned back time 8 hours, the clock is back to the moment when Dr Patrick Drake tried, as you can see, unsuccessfully to stop the surgery that will change Port Charles forever. Looking at the promo, I can’t wait to see what happens because the next month is going to have us sitting on the edge of our seats wondering who is going to live and how they are going to survive.
So tune into General Hospital daily on ABC for a storyline that is suspenseful as well as exciting!!!
Before we really got to know John Stamos (the man who gets better and better with age) as Uncle Jesse on Full House, playing drums with The Beach Boys and the guy who lost his wife (her loss) to the fat kid from Stand By Me, he was Blackie on General Hospital. Can you believe in that 1983 clip he was barely 20 years old? Even then he was just so doable and had that perfect hair! Too cute!!! xoxo Jennifer

For the next few weeks General Hospital is going to be such an adrenaline ride on ABC we might actually have to check in to General Hospital ourselves!
Today Carly throws a fundraiser at the wrong place (GH) at the wrong time. Tomorrow the show starts off with Dr Patrick Drake desperately trying to stop a surgery on a mystery patient and as his pleads go unheard, GH turns the clock back 9 hours (for the next 9 days) and we get to see all that lead up to that heart-pounding moment! But once we are caught up (on January 28th) no one in Port Charles is safe and not everyone will make it to the end of the crisis. I wonder who is going to die, but one other thing we do know is that Natasha Livingston is alive not as Emily Quatermaine but as a new person Rebecca…
Seriously if that promo is any hint how amazing General Hospital is going to be over the next weeks, I am going to need to watch the show with a heart monitor and Jason Thompson aka Dr Patrick Drake at my side just in case!!!
