One of the things that stinks about being a reporter, is that you have to report from the elements. KSNT‘s Katya Leick was reporting from Fort Riley when a bunch of cicadas decided they wanted their moment in the spotlight. They kept hugging the camera like a bunch of drunk guys after their team wins, and both are just as annoying to a reporter. Although, for Leick the buggers were more of fright, than a nuisance. Especially, when one of them landed on her face.
So watch her scream over and over in fear as they attack her. You’d think she would’ve felt safe doing her standup from a tank, but nope. What makes if ever funnier is that there are a bunch of army men nearby, who are supposed to serve and protect, and they did none of that as she screeched each time one came within her airspace. Good thing they didn’t give her rifle as a prop because I am sure she would’ve tried to shoot them all down and instead she would’ve hit everything else but them.
As someone who is afraid of bugs too, I totally understand her reaction.
CNN is turning 35 in a few days, so to honor the milestone the most trusted name in news shared some of their biggest bloopers over the last 3 and half decades. Thankfully most of them have been from the recent tenure. So the originals who made it a great name can take comfort in that.
Michael Smith was reporting on a football player who tackled a tree and he asked his His & Hers co-anchor Jemele Hill if she was impressed by that. When she said yes, he told her that is why men do “stupid sh!t.” When he realized he let the S-Bomb drop, he owned up to his mistake and joked about how he was going to be suspended for the mistake. Thankfully he wasn’t and the video was up on YouTube faster than you can take what he said!
Danny Glover was live via satellite with KTVU to talk about a APWU’s National Day of Action to protest USPS cutbacks and delays in mail service. Less than a minute into his interview, the anchor cut him off to tell him they were almost out of time. That interruption was a lethal weapon to ears, so he told her, “Well you should have given me more time, that is the first thing. OK. So why don’t you go on, if you don’t have the time then don’t bother. Just don’t give me two minutes. I am from the San Fransisco and Oakland, that is the least you could have done was given me more time. I am not somebody who is just moved by the waist side.” O
nce he was done ranting, he answered his question but in an unhappy tone. I can’t say I blame him. For a lot of celebrities it is a big deal to be interviewed by their hometown station. He was probably looking the most forward to talking to then and then Tori Campbell rudely cut him off almost as soon as he started talking. But in her defense, you only get so much time on sat interviews and their is only so much time in the newscast to dedicate to any story at any given time. So next time, a peaceful solution for the two would be just do it live to tape and he won’t know that you abruptly cut him off.

Whenever there are animal segments on talk shows, I am always hoping for the animal to attack the talk show host. As much as I want that to happen, it rarely happens in a comedic way. What does happen, is animals will relieve themselves on camera. We’ve seen dogs do it, cats do it, even a camel urinate on television, but up until today I don’t think we ever saw an alligator do it. That is exactly what happened during a live segment on Fox & Friends. They had 3 animals on the show to promote Animal Planet’s Monster Week, and the last one was a real pisser. That’s because the alligator took a nice long piss on live TV. So now we know what it looks like when a gator pees. I am sure you always wanted to know how they did it, and now you know.
I have a strong feeling that guy is going to make a good handbag, belt and purse for Elisabeth Hasslebeck after embarrassing Dave Salmoni on national television. At least he made their appearance noteworthy because why else would anyone else post that segment.
