Back in August, Tom Cruise broke his ankle while filming a stunt for Mission: Impossible: Fallout and has not spoken publicly about it since. Today on The Graham Norton Show, not only did he described what happened, he also showed us from 3 different angles and a closeup on his leg as it broke. All I have to say is ouch.
That and what a professional he was to finish the scene even though he broke his ankle. How many other people would do that? I would be crying and cursing out the crew until they carried me away in the stretcher and gave me millions of dollars to stop crying.
Cruise also gave an update on his ankle and says it is still broken. When you think about it, most broken bones heal in about 6 weeks, he is going on 6 months. He really had to do a number on it, and yet he is back filming and doing his own stunts. Just hopefully none that require him to smash into a building again. Which I am pretty sure the producers will not allow.
Conan O’Brien traveled all the way to London to help Tom Cruise promote his movie American Made, and the TBS host wanted to do something different with the actor. Thus he called Jack Reacher and asked him to do a mission impossible. Translation, Conan asked Cruise to cruise with him. As in, he got Ethan Hunt to ride shotgun with him.
Would there be singing? Nope, that is James Corden’s thing. Would there be coffee? Nope, that is Jerry Seinfeld’s thing. What would they do then? Drive. That’s it, just drive. No questions because Conan needs to concentrate on his driving, so there was silence. Which really sucks because I wanted to hear the story Cruise was told by his A Few Good Men co-star Jack Nicholson. Anyways, after 3 and a half hours of touring London, there as only one thing for the Top Gun to do. I won’t tell you, you will just have to watch the hysterical video all the way through to find out. It’s the funniest thing that Cruise has done since Eyes Wide Shut. That was such a great comedic movie.
Now we finally know why Cruise hit the wall, he was trying to get away from Conan O’Brien. Can you blame him?
Tom Cruise’s career was made when he slid his way into our hearts wearing just a shirt, his tighty whities and socks while dancing to Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock and Roll in Risky Business. We loved the way that he perfectly stopped midway through the passageway. Well yesterday, Conan O’Brien got his hands on the never-before-seen video of him trying and failing to do that move. Who knew he needed so many takes? It is definitely not the perfect daredevil we know today. Almost perfect because he did just break his ankle in a stunt gone wrong.

It seemed like nothing could ever break Tom Cruise, but now we know that something can indeed do that. That thing is the side of a building when he smashes into it during a stunt goes wrong.
Yesterday, the actor literally hit the wall when it comes to stunts and now he has ankle is paying the price for it. The Sun is reporting that he broke 2 bones in his ankle and will need around 4 months to recover.
That means that Mission: Impossible 6 will halt production while its lead heals in the US and its release date will need to be pushed back due to the delay.
Hopefully the injury will not effect his running in the long run because what would a Tom Cruise movie be without him running?

Tom Cruise is known for doing his own stunts, no matter how risky they are. But today he hit a wall, literally while filming a scene for Mission Impossible 6 in London. The actor was seen running and then jumping a scaffolding to the roof of a building. Only problem is he did not jump high enough and his body smashed into the building as you can see in this Daily Mail video. When he climbed up over the wall, he was seen limping in pain. No word how bad the injury was, but knowing him he has already shot that seen and several more.
