Have you ever watched American Idol, The Voice or The X Factor and felt that the karaoke singers were torturing you with their singing and you wish that they could feel the pain you were feeling? Well with TruTV’s Killer Karaoke that debuts tonight at 9p that is exactly what is going to happen! Six singers in 3 groups of two will compete against each other and the 3 winners of each group will duel it out for a possible $10,000 prize. Sounds boring, did I mention that Steve-O hosts the show so that means these competitors will be feeling pain and fright like they have never felt or experienced before.
For example in the series premiere one contestant will sing while she is being dropped into a pool of freezing water with live snakes swimming around. Another guy will be waxed all over his body as he hit the high notes and boy does he hit them. One guy will be shocked as he serves food to the host and Steve-O loves pressing the button over and over and over again.
Then once the audience says who were the best three for the night, they will sing on a rotating circle that will move faster and faster, and the longer they stay on the more money they will win.
So if you are a huge sadist like me and love to see people in lots of pain, then you are going to adore this show. Or if you are sick on signing competitions, then you will feel better watching this show picturing it is Sanjaya Malakar up there finally getting what has been coming to him for years! What else are you doing on Friday nights? This is more fun than anything else you are thinking of doing.
Tonight at 10p Megan Fox joins her baby daddy Brian Austin Green on TBS’s Wedding Band and we get an episode that everyone can enjoy!
When Mother of the Bride play a wedding at Comic-Con, the most popular actress at the convention falls for Tommy (Green). Where ever Alexa Jordan (Megan Fox) goes, Sci-Fi geeks are sure to follow. Two of those geeks aka teenage boys make Tommy an offer he can’t refuse. They ask him to play their party, so that the band can make them popular. Tommy refuses, but the band insists he does the gig and we get an episode that every high school nerd dreams of. This one hour episode is the best teen geek movie since Weird Science, so take that ’90s wannabes.
A big reason why this episode is so brilliant is because of Fox and recently on a conference call her husband explained how she got the job. The Transformers beauty was not the first or second or third choice for the role. When the other actresses who were up for it were not able to do it, desperate measures were take. Green explained, “I had already spoken to my wife about the episode and kind of what was going on and she graciously said that, you know, if nothing else worked out that she would step in and kind of rescue us and she did. And I thought she was great. I thought she kicked ass.” That she totally does. The best part is you get to see the two of them bed together, so in a way you get a glimpse of how their son was made!
Want to go to a wedding tonight, but don’t want to deal with all the stuff that comes with? Then you are going to want to watch the Wedding Band on TBS at 10p.
Tommy (Brian Austin Green) is the lead singer for the most nontraditional wedding band, but yet they make beautiful music. Tommy is single, and he wants to keep it that way. Eddie (Peter Cambor) is happily married with kids yet the band get him to do things he doesn’t want to do. Barry (Derek Miller) is the guy you expect to be in a band. Session musician Stevie (Harold Perrineau) is the latest addition to the group and he completes them.
These guys know how to live the Wedding Band life and you will live it through them! As funny and enjoyable the show is the music is what makes it. You have to hear their renditions of their songs because they are all better than the original.
TNT announced today when our favorite shows are coming back and we don’t have to wait until the summer to find out what happens next for the Ewings! We have something to be thankful for because Rizzoli & Isles and Leverage will be back on November 27th. Then just as we get over our New Year’s hangovers, Dallas will be back on January 28th. On February 4th, David E Kelly has new show on TV and this time it is a medical drama with Sanjay Gupta starring Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina and Jamie Bamber. The arresting drama SouthLAnd will be back on February 13th. Two weeks after that TNT gets real with Donnie Wahlberg in the unscripted drama Boston’s Finest.
I hope the Mayans were wrong about the world ending because I want to be around to see the new season of Dallas! Seriously didn’t that strike oil with you?
Raise a glass and down the shot because TBS has renewed Sullivan & Son for a second season. The sitcom about a NYC lawyer who moves back to Pittsburgh to help his dad run their neighborhood bar will be back in 2013 to the jokes that other comedies are afraid to tell.
The thing I like about it most about the show that stars Steve Byrne is that it is funny without being mean. Plus it is the type of bar you can see yourself going to when you are over the whole trendy bar scene with people you can see hanging out with you. They won’t be like them, but they will look like them!
If you have never seen Sullivan & Son (the show that puts the Very Funny TBS Very Funny) then you can watch it Thursdays at 10p.
