Matt Groening is back with her first new animated show since Futurama and Disenchanted is absolutely enchanting. The Simpsons is set in current time (even though they don’t age), Futurama is set in the future and the show that is now streaming on Netflix now takes place in the past.

Bean (Abbi Jacobson) is the Princess of Dreamland in medieval times and she is not your traditional princess. She likes to drink, gamble and fool around. When her father, King Zøg (John DiMaggio) forces her to marry someone for an alliance to get magic, she does everything in her power not to marry him.

No matter what she does, her wedding day is finally here. When her future husband falls on the sword, it looks like she is in the free and clear. That is until her father tells her she has to marry his brother (Matt Berry). It looks like she is doomed until an elf named Elfo (Nat Faxon) crashes the wedding. Bean and her demon Luci (Eric Andre) make a run for it with Elfo.

Together the three of them will rebel against society and her father. They will seek out on new adventures and discover new places. No matter what happens, they have each other. While we have an enjoyable show to watch.

Each of the first 10 episodes is better than the one before it. All leading up to a shocking season finale that sets up the next 10 episodes that are coming to Netflix. I cannot wait to see what happens next because what has already happened is so very good.

Disenchantment looks enchanting

I do not know about you, but I am still missing Galavant. Since then, I have been looking for something to replace it. Finally, a new show on Netflix will fill that hole on August 17th and it is Disenchantment. While it is not a musical, it is the next best thing. An animated show from the creator of The Simpsons.

It is the type of cartoon you cannot watch with your kids, but they will want to watch it too. It is something that is all ours and not theirs. Which is what the world needs more of!

The Simpsons does what no other scripted primetime show has ever done!
April 29th, 2018 under The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Back on June 18, 1961, when Gunsmoke aired their final episode, no one ever thought that any other show would break their record. Now almost 57 years, The Simpsons tells them to eat their shorts.

That is because tonight at 8p on Fox, the animated sitcom will air its 636th episode. Which is one more episode than all of the Western’s, making The Simpsons the longest-running scripted U.S. primetime television series.

While it only took Gunsmoke 20 years to reach that number, The Simpsons had to wait until their 29th season to get to that milestone. A milestone they will surpass with each episode moving forward.

Congrats!

So what happens tonight? Homer sells his car to a derby and takes the family to see it get it destroyed. While they are there, Grandpa has a heart attack and it looks like he is going to die. Since he is on his deathbed, he makes a confession to his son. One that if he lives will tear their family apart. What could it be? You don’t want to miss the 636th episode of this series to find out what this devastating secret is.

Did you miss this Simpsons’ joke?
April 9th, 2018 under The Simpsons. [ Comments: 2 ]

Even though we know that every week Bart Simpson is going to write something different on the blackboard, that does not mean we will watch the opening from The Simpsons to see it.

If you missed the theme song, then you missed what Bart wrote. What did he write? Al Jean reminded us of the hard work that his writers did when they came up with this funny line, “April Showers did not date the president.” As we all know, especially Michael Cohen, her name is Stormy Daniels.

All around the country, parents have had to tell their kids all about Stormy Daniels and what she and POTUS did. But for a few minutes all they had to do was explain to them what April showers really are. Or this year it seems to be more like April snow.

The Simpsons goes ’70s cop show, Stewie gets help on Family Guy
March 18th, 2018 under Seth MacFarlane, The Simpsons. [ Comments: none ]

Tonight at 8p on Fox, The Simpsons back and Homer Simpson falls for an expensive painting at the museum. Sadly, it is being auctioned off and some billionaire bought it. Right after the auction the priceless art piece goes missing and Homer is the #1 suspect? Did he do it? Mr Manacek is on the case and he is like Mannix, Columbo and Kojak all rolled into one. He will do everything in his power to solve the mystery. The biggest one since who shot Mr Burns, which is about the same time that Mr Manacek’s show was airing.

Then at 9p, Stewie goes to see a therapist and this Family Guy episode is only about them. Stewie goes there to be analyzed, but turns out he analyzes the therapist instead. When the youngest Griffin is done, he realizes something about himself. He reveals a side of himself we have never seen before. That is the only reason to watch this episode.

I have seen every episode of the show, and this was my least favorite one. At least they tried something different. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. To me this is a doesn’t.
