Did Les Moonves offer Bob Barker the right price to retire? |

FOR better or worse, we’re all about to see a little bit more of hyperactive CBS "Early Show" weatherman Dave Price. He just re-upped his contract with the network and may have gotten a sweet side deal – to host the long-running game show "The Price is Right." Longtime "Price" host Bob Barker announced his retirement Tuesday afternoon, and it came as a shock to some. One former co-worker said, "Bob always swore he would die on that show. He had a unique contract where it was for life – and if he left unwillingly, the show had to go dark for a year, effectively killing it." Some think CBS head Les Moonves must have paid off Barker to retire – because he loves Price, who had been threatening to jump ship to Fox. A rep for CBS, Chris Ender, said, "Bob just informed us of his plans. It’s premature to discuss another potential host."

 After giving out prizes on "The Price is Right" for 35 years, Bob Barker will be getting a prize of his own next year. He’s going to retire. In an exclusive interview with the Associated Press, Barker says his last show will be June Seventh, 2007. Barker jokes that he wants to step down while he’s "still young." He turns 83 on December 12th. Barker admits he’ll miss the show and is "frightened by the thought of getting up in the morning and there will be no more shows." He says a search for a new host has been going on for two or three years. By the time he retires, Barker will have been on the tube for half a century and he says he’s "enjoyed every moment."

Bob Barker, Emmy Award-winning host of CBS’s long running game show ‘The Price is Right,‘ surprises Emmy-nominated Craig Ferguson on the set of his late-night talk show, CBS’ THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH CRAIG FERGUSON. Barker, joined by his announcer Rich Fields and the Barker Beauties, wastes no time bashing Ferguson’s desk in retaliation for Ferguson’s constant jibes over the past year and a half. Ferguson’s set will be demolished as they get ready for a new one to be constructed and unveiled on Monday, July 24th.

I wonder if Barker’s motivation was someone who did not spay or neuter their pet?
BTW I hear the set was seriously destroyed!
