Does Justin Timberlake dis Janet Jackson in an upcoming song? That’s what some fans and foes are saying after Timberlake’s “Give It To Me” was leaked to the Internet. In the song — which the former Mouseketeer sings with Timbaland and Nelly Furtado — Timberlake sings: “Could you speak up and stop mumbling?/I don’t think you came in clear/When you’re sitting on the top/it’s hard to hear you from way up there/I saw you tryin’ to act cute on TV/Just let me clear the air/We missed you on the charts last week/[Bleep] that’s right, you wasn’t there.” People are buzzing that Timberlake is referring to Jackson’s appearance on Oprah Winfrey’s show, when she discussed the boob-baring incident, and wasn’t entirely kind to her former friend and singing partner. She said that Timberlake has reached out to her but that she hasn’t spoken to him since Nipplegate. “Justin is totally ragging on Janet,” one poster noted on LiveJournal. Blogged another: “As far as I’m concerned, Timberlake is just playing around and being ‘street’ like the big man he is.” Timberlake’s rep wasn’t available for comment at press time.

Reclusive pop superstar Michael Jackson made a musical comeback of sorts on Wednesday, singing the chorus line of his charity single "We Are The World" before the sound cut out as he struggled for the high notes. The 48-year-old, performing live for the first time since he was acquitted of child molestation charges in June, 2005, had been expected to sing his seminal hit "Thriller". But to the huge disappointment of screaming fans, that was performed instead by young U.S. star Chris Brown. Jackson looked uncomfortable at times as he was surrounded by excited young members of a gospel chorus on stage with him. That did not stop supporters desperate to see their idol cheer his every move, especially when threw his black sequin jacket into the crowd. The failure by the deposed King of Pop to demonstrate his voice and confidence were back to anywhere near their best was likely to raise further doubts about his ability to resurrect a career that has been on hold for years. "I love you!" he shouted, before the World Music Awards 2006 ceremony he headlined wound up. Earlier in the evening, Jackson was given the Diamond Award honouring artists who sell more than 100 million records. Introducing Jackson, U.S. singer Beyonce said: "Tonight we are celebrating 25 years of ‘Thriller’," referring to his seminal album. "If it wasn’t for Michael Jackson I would never have ever performed. I love you, we all love you." Jackson, who has been a virtual recluse for the last 17 months, thanked fans and his family, singling out his three children who have been with him during his stopover in London. "I am greatly humbled by this award," said Jackson, who wore his jet black hair long and straight. "It was my dream that ‘Thriller’ would be the biggest-selling album ever … and God has answered my prayers," he added. Jackson’s lifetime record sales tally is believed to be around 750 million, making him the most successful entertainer of all time. Whether Wednesday’s performance helps him on the road to professional recovery remains to be seen. "I would say there’s very little chance of him coming back from where he is," said Gareth Grundy, deputy editor of the Q music magazine, speaking before the show. "I think people will always be fascinated by the freak show, and that’s what’s going on," he said. "I would categorise him as a celebrity as opposed to an artist."

So sad, I was really hoping he would be back. The Michael Jackson we knew and loved is gone forever…:( Just out of curiousity was it really a good idea to have Michael Jackson surrounded by so many teenagers? BTW here is a picture of Chris Brown (not born when Thriller came out) singing the song.

Michael Jackson has outraged organisers of the World Music Awards, after making backstage demands totalling a staggering £250,000. Jackson – who is set to perform his classic hit ‘Thriller’ at tonight’s (15.11.06) ceremony in London – demanded personal hair and make-up artists, a private jet and 20 first-class plane tickets for his entourage. The eccentric singer has also made a number of outrageous demands to staff at the Hempel Hotel, in London’s Bayswater area, where he is staying at a cost of £6,300-a-night. Upon Jackson’s request the lavish hotel has erected an 18ft wall on its first floor to provide more privacy for him and his three children, Prince Michael, nine, Paris, eight, and four-year-old Prince Michael II. A source said: "Yes, he’s eccentric but he wants to create a homely environment for them." However, the 48-year-old star’s unusual requests have apparently earned him a bad reputation among London’s top hoteliers.

I hope they get their money’s worth. How do you think he is going to do tonight?

Reclusive superstar Michael Jackson plans a dramatic comeback later this month with a performance of his classic song "Thriller", the organizers of a music awards ceremony said on Wednesday. The 48-year-old superstar has been a virtual recluse since his acquittal of child molestation charges in June, 2005, dividing much of his time between Bahrain and Ireland. Last month the World Music Awards announced that Jackson would appear in London to accept a Diamond Award that goes to artists who sell more than 100 million records worldwide, and this week they confirmed Jackson’s intention to perform. "Yes, it’s his first performance in a long time," said a spokeswoman at Outside Organization, one of the public relations companies publicizing the event. "It’s something of a comeback if you like." The choice of song coincides with the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s "Thriller" album, one of the biggest selling records of all time. Jackson has said he planned to move to Europe in a bid to resurrect his musical career, and in April a record label said he intended to make a new album to be released in 2007.
