The Critics’ Choice Awards steals the Golden Globes date
May 12th, 2021 under Awards, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Critics Choice Awards

On Monday, NBC announced that they were not going to air The Golden Globes next year. Therefore, the awards show was canceled. That means that January 9th is now available for another ceremony to jump in and steal that date, and the Critics’ Choice Awards, did just that.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with The CW again and looking forward to gathering in person to celebrate the finest work of this upcoming season,” said Critics Choice Association CEO Joey Berlin. “The 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards will mark a return to the glamorous, star-studded revelry that make these nights absolutely unforgettable.”

The CCA also needs to steal the Globes statuette to be their own because it took a lot of balls to do what they did.

Watch the cast of All American cut loose, Footloose
May 6th, 2021 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

When you work on a TV show or a movie, there is a lot of downtime. Therefore, you have to come up with things to keep you busy. The cast of All America took that time to learn how to do the Footloose dance. So sit back and watch them cut loose to Kenny Loggins’ song with Kevin Bacon’s moves.

I think they need to add line dancing to the show next season. Who doesn’t want to see Ryan McPartlin, Taye Diggs, and the rest of the cast dancing on each episode? I know I do.

The CW picks up Dynasty and eleven other shows for next season
February 3rd, 2021 under DC Comics, Dynasty, The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Even though The CW just started its season, they already know which shows they want back in the Fall. They are All American, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Dynasty, The Flash, In The Dark, Legacies, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Roswell, New Mexico, and Walker.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” said Mark Pedowitz, Chairman and CEO, The CW Network.

It has already been announced that this will be Supergirl and Black Lightning’s final season.

Another show not on the list is Superman & Lois, which debuts on February 23rd. However, that DC Arrowvers show and Walker both got additional episodes for this season.

Jared Padalecki is Walker, Texas Ranger tonight
January 21st, 2021 under The CW. [ Comments: none ]

Jared Padalecki goes from hunting demons on Supernatural to hunting bad guys on Walker tonight at 8p on The CW. I never watched the original series with Chuck Norris, so I cannot compare the two.

Walker (Padalecki) is a Texas Ranger who was on a two-year assignment. He is a widow, and his mom (Molly Hagen) and dad (Mitch Pileggi) have been raising his two teens, August (Kale Culley) and daughter Stella (Violet Brinson), while he has been away. His troubled daughter needs him at home, but he thinks he needs to be out in the field.

Now that he is home, he has a new partner. Micki Ramirez (Lindsey Morgan) is one of the few women Texas Rangers, and she has to work twice as hard at her job. She does things more by the book than Walker. Therefore, she is not going to take his crap.

Another person who is not going to take his crap is his brother Liam (Keegan Allen). He is the ADA. Liam tells his brother like it is.

With all of that going on, it makes sense that he wants to go back on the road. He is going to have to decide if that is what he is going to want to do when he is given a great opportunity. Will stay at home, or will he take on this new case?

If you are a fan of Padalecki, you are going to love this show. It is not Supernatural, but it is still something enjoyable to watch.
