Today, the streamer revealed that the series is back in production and who will be joining the show this season. Ted Danson will be assisted by Annette O’Toole, Bernadette Peters, Christopher McDonald, Diedrich Bader, Jessica St. Clair, Nick Offerman, Rachel Dratch, and Stephen Root,
That is the good news. The bad news is that it will be the series final season.
Creator/Executive Producer Michael Schur said: “This series began with a retiree taking a chance at a new life. By answering a help wanted ad and venturing out into the world, Charles Nieuwendyk made his world bigger and proved that life only slows down if you let it. We are thrilled to be able to conclude his journey with one final chapter, as embodied by the great Ted Danson, who I am legally required to refer to as a ‘National Treasure.'”

Before Ted Danson was serving beer in Cheers, he was being served Colt 45 at a bar. He looks the same now as he did when he was 31 in that 1978 commercial.
Before Ted Danson owned a bar on Cheers, he was a customer who drank Michelob Light. How fun was it to see the 32-year-old on the other side of the bar in that 1980 commercial?
Ted Danson is lovable just being himself. And it is not any different when he is starring in Man on the Inside on Netflix.
Because of that, audiences have been loving the show about a college professor who turns into a private investigator and investigates cases in a way only he can, with a cast of characters who are just as charismatic as he is.
Therefore, it makes sense that the streamer would pick up the series for a third season.
Creator/Executive Producer Michael Schur said, “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with Netflix on another season of A Man on the Inside. It’s a true joy to work with this entire team, most especially the handsome, erudite, and monstrously talented Ted Danson, a true American treasure whose contract stipulates exactly what adjectives I am allowed to use while describing him in press releases.”
Need something to keep you occupied until the first part of the Stranger Things’ final episodes debut, then Netflix has you covered.
On November 20th, Ted Danson is back as the Man on the Inside with his old friends like Stephen McKinley Henderson and Sally Struthers from season 1.
Eager to take on another big undercover case, Charles Nieuwendyk (Ted Danson) gets his chance when a mysterious blackmailer targets Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield), who enlists Charles to go undercover as a professor. Who’s making these threats? Does it have something to do with the iconoclastic billionaire Brad Vinick (Gary Cole), a Wheeler graduate, and his proposed donation to the school? Charles finds no shortage of possible suspects, but his attention gets diverted by free-spirited music teacher Mona (Mary Steenburgen), whose zest for life awakens feelings he thought he’d buried after the passing of his wife. Is he ready to open his heart again at this stage in his life? And more importantly, has he fallen for the very criminal he’s been sent to unmask?
Meanwhile, his daughter Emily (Mary Elizabeth Ellis) is inspired by the changes in her father and uncovers a long-ignored passion, while PI Julie (Lilah Richcreek Estrada) embarks on her own journey of growth as she reconnects with an important figure from her past.
When a show as sweet as Man on the Inside captures our hearts, I am always afraid that the second season will not be as lovable. But it looks like, once again, Danson can do no wrong, especially when he works with his wife.
