So tonight was the much hyped appearance of Katie Holmes on So You Think You Can Dance and let’s just say she is not a triple threat. She proved she can’t sing nor live up to the last word of the title of the show she was on…dance. Seriously what choreography was in that number for her, I can’t dance and I can do those moves. In fact I think it looked almost exactly like the routine she did on Eli Stone and she was better in that one. Judy Garland would not be happy about that rendition of Get Happy.
After 5 seasons and 99 episodes Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance is turning 100 tonight with a very special show! The celebration will include some of the best dances from the show with a special group number to Wade Robson’s Ramalama (the best dance ever on the show) and Katie Holmes will dance a Judy Garland tribute. Tonight’s show that starts at 9p should be one of the best, if not the best one, in the show’s history, but sadly two more will go home.
And in two weeks, the 2 day season finale is moving locations to the Kodak Theater for the first time. Fox is promising lots of surprises for the final two episodes of this season of SYTYCD!
The top 10 dancers will get new partners tonight at 8p on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. I am really hoping that now they are splitting up the couples, that I will finally find someone to root for. Am I the only who is not feeling this season? I mean the dancers aren’t wowing me. The choreography hasn’t been memorable, I can’t think of any dance I wanted to YouTube and post. I am even getting sick of the Judges. I have never liked how pompous Nigel Lythgoe is, but this season he seems worse than season’s past. Mary says the same thing every time either they are on the hot tamale train or that really wasn’t that good. When it comes to guest judges except for Adam Shankman, have any of them said anything useful? Lil’ C really needs to banned from judging on the show ever again.
Now that we finally have a say who should go instead of the Judges, I think that tomorrow we will most likely lost Jason (why is he still there?) and either Janine or Kayla, who are the judges favorites but not ours. Like I said, I really hope it gets better tonight with the new partners, but I am not holding my breath that it will be. Well even if this season doesn’t get better, at least I won’t have to wait a year for a new season, I will just have to wait a month and a half!

Tonight on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, Nigel Lythgoe announced his new project the Dizzy Feet Foundation. Nigel started the foundation with Adam Shankman, Carrie Ann Inaba and “his good friend” Katie Holmes. DFF was established to help underprivileged kids who might not have the financial means or the chance to take dance classes to have the opportunity to take them. Dance is a beautiful thing and it is nice that they are using their training for good!
Also on the show Nigel confirmed “his good friend” Katie Holmes will be dancing a Judy Garland tribute on the 100th episode that airs on July 23rd. Seriously if they are such good friends, why have we never seen them together. He is such a name dropper.
Tonight on Fox at 8p, Season 5’s Top 20 boys and girls perform together as couple for the first time! Since most of the dancers were not featured during the auditions, I can’t wait to watch them all tonight and see what each one of them will bring to the show this season! Seriously I love this So You Think You Can Dance so much!!!
UPDATE: Life & Style is reporting that a So You Think You Can Dance insider says that Katie Holmes, who has been seen a lot a dance studio in recent months, is talking to Nigel Lythgoe to do a dance number on show either this season or the one in the fall. When I asked Fox if it was true, they had no comment. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I would be interested to see what she can do after the great job she did on Eli Stone.
