Princess Leia will be Star Wars: Episode IX
July 27th, 2018 under JJ Abrams, Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

Before Carrie Fisher died, she finished filming for Star Wars: The Last Jedi aka Episode XIII, but they were nowhere close to even thinking about filming the last movie in the franchise. Which made us wonder would she would or would she not be in the final film.

Today, we got the answer. Star Wars revealed that Princess Leia Organa will be in the film and it will not be a CGI version of her as there was one in Rogue One. Instead, they will be using previously unreleased footage of her that was shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Good thing they brought back J.J. Abrams to direct because he also directed A Force Awakens and knows how to make it work. In fact, he said, “Finding a truly satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker saga without her eluded us. We were never going to recast, or use a CG character. With the support and blessing from her daughter, Billie, we have found a way to honor Carrie’s legacy and role as Leia in Episode IX by using unseen footage we shot together in Episode VII.”

This is doing her legacy proud. She is not the only original (from the first 3 films) in the movie, so are Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams. Not only that, John Williams will once again score the music for the feature.

Even though I have not seen a Star Wars movie since Episode I, I am actually looking forward to seeing this one next September.

Did you know Wookies have a Chewbaccapella group?
July 13th, 2018 under Conan O'Brien, Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

Conan O’Brien is heading to San Diego Comic-Con and he got his favorite A Capella group to perform a number on his show. They are Chewbaccapella and they performed an old Irish melody for the host. Their version of Danny Boy left us saying, “Oh Danny boy, I love you so!”

The thing I love about Conan is that he is willing to let a bit be as stupid as it needs to be to get a laugh!

A tale of two Han Solos!
May 14th, 2018 under Harrison Ford, Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

Alden Ehrenreich was doing an interview about Solo: A Star Wars story with Entertainment Tonight and he got a little surprise. Actually, a big one because the original Han Solo walked into the room.

Even though Ehrenreich had met Harrison Ford before, he was still surprised to see the legend. It got even better for young Solo when Ford said he is “spectacular” in the movie. Which is the highest praise he can get. Nothing and no one will be able to top that. When the person whose huge shoes you filled says they are happy with you, does anything else matter? I don’t think so.

Han Solo flying solo in the Solo trailer
April 8th, 2018 under Star Wars. [ Comments: none ]

The first trailer is out for Solo: A Star Wars Story and the Han Solo feature is not for me. Had the film still been directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, I would have been a more excited for it. Since it was directed by Ron Howard, I will be skipping it on May 25th. No offense to Howard, I like him as an actor but not as a director.

What do you think?

A ’70s girl’s wet dream!
March 26th, 2018 under 70s, KISS, Star Wars, Wet dream. [ Comments: none ]

Back in the ’70s, all a girl wanted was Gene Simmons’ tongue to KISS her and Mark Hamill’s lightsaber to, well you know! But yet that was only a dream, and they never saw the two of them together.

Now 40 years later, the two sex idols met up at Sirius radio and all of those are girls are dreaming having a three-way with them and Rock and Roll All Night. The only Star Wars in the bedroom that night is who would go first! And they Luke Skywalker is the Joker.
