Watch this guy strike out with his proposal
August 6th, 2013 under Marriage Proposals, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

So David decided to propose to his girlfriend, Jessica, at a New Britain Rock Cats baseball game last week. Jessica looked horrified by his question, so when the announcer asked her for the answer she said, “I’m sorry. I can’t. I’m sorry.” Then she ran off up in to the stands and he ran in to the dug out.
No word what happened if and when the two met up again. But you have to wonder if they were like, do you think they believed us? Many are questioning, including me, if that proposal was real. Do you think they played a fast ball on us or do you think he really struck out?

Would NYers know All-Star Mets pitcher Matt Harvery if they were talking to him?
July 16th, 2013 under Jimmy Fallon, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Growing up in NYC I always remember knowing who all of our baseball players were from The Yankees and The Mets every year. So Jimmy Fallon decided to test out that theory on Late Night yesterday when he had NY Met Matt Harvey interview NYers at Bryant Park. Watch what happens when he steps out out of his uniform and into some street clothes, and talks to some of his biggest fans! Granted in their defense it’s hard to recognize someone that you have only either seen in his uniform or naked, I mean clothes make the man but only if you know what he looks like in them.
BTW am I the only one who wants to round the bases with Matt Harvey after this bit?

Kobe Bryant hints he will retire soon
March 8th, 2013 under Jimmy Kimmel, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Kobe Bryant was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday and the ABC host asked the basketball player about his future with the NBA because he only has a year left on his contract. The LA Laker had said in the past he couldn’t imagine retiring without another ring, so Kimmel wanted to know more. #24 answered him by saying “I have been very blessed to have been with a fantastic organization. I truly have. It’s coming to an end.” Then he added, “I’m happy it’s with a Lakers uniform.” So then Kimmel asked how soon and he said “It will be soon.” When the audience expressed their sadness over his decision, he explained that he has been playing for 20 years. Got to respect the 34 year old for wanting to go out on top, but I am sure many people don’t want him to go just yet.
I don’t know much about him (besides his love life), but I do he is a great player and the NBA will miss him! It will be interesting to see who will be the next playing legend after him now that Michael Jordan and Shaq have already retired and he will be joining them shortly on the permanent bench.

2012’s funniest sports’ fouls and strike outs!
January 5th, 2013 under Bloopers, David Letterman, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Sports is a serious business, but sometimes it can be really funny. Marv Albert was on The Late Show yesterday and he shared with David Letterman some of the best sports’ bloopers from last year! Sadly almost every sport was included but golf, so I guess that game is so boring they can’t even mess it up. Oh well maybe this year!
BTW where was something from the Olympics, I am sure they had a few good screw ups.

Tim Tebow is excited
March 26th, 2012 under Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Tim Tebow held a press conference today to tell the world that he is excited to play for the NY Jets. You know how I know he is excited about it? He said the word 45 times during the 33 minute presser. That is once every :44 seconds. That is a lot of excitement.
BTW I wasn’t sure if you heard, but Tim Tebow is excited to play for the Jets.
