Derek Jeter is retiring
February 12th, 2014 under Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Derek Jeter, one of the greatest baseball players of today, announced on Facebook that this upcoming season will be last. For 19 years we have followed his amazing career and it will be sad to see the NY Yankee go. But considering he has been doing this for over half his life and accomplished so much, he deserves to enjoy the next stage of his life.
I am sure he will somehow be involved with baseball, so even though he will not be playing the field anymore he will still be part of it all.

Yesterday’s Super Bowl was the most watched TV program ever!
February 3rd, 2014 under Sports figures, Super Bowl. [ Comments: none ]

Not only did the Seattle Seahawks clobber the Denver Broncos, they clobbered in the ratings too. Yesterday’s Super Bowl was watched by 111.5 million people, making it the most watched television program ever according to Deadline.
So even though the teams were not as big as some of the others, the halftime show was with a virtual unknown to most of the viewers and the Broncos only scored one touchdown, people still tuned in to watch and stayed. I don’t know why this surprises me because I actually predicted this on Twitter yesterday, but I did it as a joke. Now we find out it is the truth.
So I guess the best way to get people to watch, is not to have all the glitz and glam you normally have for football’s biggest night.

13 year old Easton Gamoke, future NBA player!

So 13 year old Easton Gamoke was playing in a tournament game that had gone into overtime and the score was tied. So in the final seconds, with one arm, he flung the basketball across the entire court and gave his team, YMCA Running Rebels, a much needed win!
To prove that the amazing throw was not a one time thing, he attempted it the next day and once again proved he has the magic arm that Magic Johnson would envy!
If this kid isn’t playing for the NBA after college, then I call foul.

Even basketball players get scared!
January 9th, 2014 under Pranks, Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

So as the Houston Rockets entered the court for practice they noticed an inflatable version of their mascot, Clutch, outside of it. They didn’t think anything of it until after they were done playing hoops. That’s because there was a person inside of Clutch and they came to life as the players came through the doors. So even those these guys are over 6′ tall that doesn’t stop them from being scared like a little girl if someone surprises them or should I say someone in an inflatable mascot costume suddenly comes to life. Because of that I love these tall guys a little bit more, especially Dwight Howard. The editors definitely saved the best scare for last, so make sure to watch the prank all the way through for it.

Mike Ditka finds football as interesting as I do!
December 30th, 2013 under Sports figures. [ Comments: none ]

Yesterday during ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown Mike Ditka found the conversation about the Jets vs Dolphins game so interesting that he fell asleep. Luckily for us, Keyshawn Johnson didn’t realize it until the camera was back on them.
In Ditka’s defense we were all tired this weekend after all the food we ate on Christmas.
