The Return Of The Spice Girls

The Spice Girls re-unite for unique World Tour, definitive Documentary and long overdue Greatest Hits CD

After many years of speculation and rumour, one of Britain's biggest ever global success stories announced their reunion tour to the world's media at the O2 Arena, London today.

Eleven years after they began to re-write the record books as one of the biggest selling girl groups of all time, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell announced the 11 date tour, spanning six continents to over four hundred of the world's media.

From Europe to North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australia, the famous five will globe trot to the four corners of the planet, treating fans old and new to a brand new, state of the art live extravaganza under the banner, 'The Return of the Spice Girls'.

Fifty five million records sold, an astonishing nine UK No.1 singles, three-back-to-back UK Christmas No.1 singles and, in 'Wannabe', the biggest selling single ever by an all female group, the Spice Girls have very little to prove, except that proper pop is back.

The Girls showed what the world has been missing since they set out to forge their own careers in 2001, answering questions from the media in their usual irrepressible style, once again displaying that irresistible group dynamic.

Back together again, they invited the world to join in the fun, calling for fans to register for tickets at the new website www.thespicegirls.com.

To celebrate the reunion The Spice Girls will be making their first ever official documentary for TV broadcast around the world with highly respected director Bob Smeaton ('Beatles Anthology', 'Who's Next'). The documentary will tell the definitive story of The Spice Girls.

A long overdue Greatest Hits album is set for release at Christmas.

The Spice Girls are represented globally by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment.

The Spice Girls really really want a reunion
June 28th, 2007 under Spice Girls. [ Comments: none ]

After months of rumors that the Spice Girls were planning a reunion, they finally announced today that it is true according to the Daily Mail. Each one of the Spice Girls will get $10 million each, so for that amount they felt the time was right. Sporty Spice who has been the one who has been holding back said this, "We wanted to say thank you to our fans. It just feels very right for us." Good thing her album failed because it was probably the push she needed to say yes. And talking about failed success the first date for the tour is LA where Posh Spice has not been making a dent in stardom. Here is what she said about the tour,  "We're definitely going to have a huge creche. Our priority is going to be our families. We want to have fun. That's one of the many reasons for this, for our children to see what we used to do." Let's hope their children will be impressed and they are better than The Police reunion.
Here are the dates for the 11 city tour:

Los Angeles – December 7
Las Vegas – December 8
New York – December 11
London – December 15
Koln – December 20
Madrid – December 23
Beijing – January 10
Hong Kong – January 12
Sydney – January 17
Cape Town – January 20
Buenos Aires – January 24

BTW will you guys laugh at me if I say I want to go?

Eddie Murphy is the daddy

Scary Spice says the results are in and Eddie Murphy is that daddy according to People. A source said, "He's the baby's father, it's official. The baby is undoubtedly, 110 percent his." They added, "There was no doubt in people's minds anyways, least of all hers. It wasn't a surprise to her. She knew all along."
Her people confirm it, while his people have nothing to say. I thought she said she was going to take it to TV, not as fun reading it as compared to seeing it. I guess she is just too busy getting ready for the Spice Girls reunion aannouncement next Thursday.

Do you think she looks like Eddie Murphy?

I still can't tell if she looks like Eddie Murphy, but looks like we won't have to wait much longer to find out because that was them going for a paternity test yesterday.

Is Scary Spice going to be Dancing with the Stars?

It has been two weeks since ABC confirmed that Dancing with the Stars was coming this fall and already we are hearing who might be part of the show's fifth edition. According to IOL when Scary Spice's (Melanie Brown) spokesperson was asked if she has spoken to Eddie Murphy they responded by saying,  "Eddie hasn't been in contact yet, but Mel's been busy with the US version of Strictly Come Dancing and her daughters." Hmmm, very interesting? It kind of makes sense though because the show did wonders for Baby Spice in The UK. But I wonder is DWTS trying to take one controversial English person each season and make them a positive name in the US? Last year was Heather Mills, now Melanie B, who is next Posh Spice or Jordan or George Micheal or Boy George or Naomi Campbell?
