Simon Cowell’s face says it all

WTF was Fantasia thinking screaming, I mean singing that song on American? That was just awful and don’t get me started on the dancing, the hair and that outfit. They were all so bad they speak for themselves. Just like Simon Cowell’s expression to it all together at 2:58 on that YouTube clip.

Simon Cowell thinks this season of American Idol is dull?

Homesick Simon Cowell spoke to his hometown paper The Sun about this season of American Idol and let's just say I agree with him.

He said: “To be honest with you I’m not really enjoying the current American Idol season.

“It actually reminds me of the last X Factor series we did. It’s just a bit dull.”

Minus David Cook's performance of Hello, I have seriously forgotten about all the other performances. I still don't know who most of them are, and I am not sure I care to find out who they are.
Maybe now that we are finaly down to Top 12 it will get better. Just maybe…
Tune in to Fox tonight at 8p to see the Top 12 attempt the Beatles.

Simon Cowell as the face of Viagra?
March 2nd, 2008 under American Idol 1-5, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

Believe it or not Simon Cowell could have been the face of viagra if he would have said yes to their offer according to The Sun

“Last year my agent rang me and said ’You’ve been offered an incredibly big £1 million deal. It’s to be the face of Viagra’.

“And I just said ’Sorry, but that has to be a f****** insult’.”

I wonder why they chose him? What do they know about him?

Simon Cowell takes Kelly Clarkson’s side
May 18th, 2007 under American Idol 1-5, Kelly Clarkson, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: 1 ]

Simon Cowell is defending American Idol's first winner Kelly Clarkson over the whole record debacle. Here is what he told Entertainment Weekly about the whole situation, ''Kelly is not a puppet; she does not like to be told what to do. She could have gone the easy route, which is, you go with ['Since U Been Gone' producer] Max Martin — it's a guaranteed success. She made it absolutely clear that she wanted to steer the musical direction on this record. You just gotta say, 'You know what? This girl has given us millions and millions of sales.' You've got to give her that opportunity. If it works out, fantastic. If she then decides she wants to do a pop album, every good writer and producer wants to work with her. Because Kelly will be here for 30 years. She has one of the best pop voices in the world right now. What she sold in the U.K., Europe, Asia had nothing to do with American Idol. It had everything to do with the fact that she made a great record and she's got an incredible voice. She's not a girl who got lucky in a talent competition; we got lucky to find her.'' You know what he is 100% right. Clive Davis should be kissing her a$$ because she is his biggest current seller and no matter how different the sound of this album is, she is going to sell like crazy.
Thanks Kim!

A Simon Cowell eye roll causes an uproar
April 18th, 2007 under American Idol 6, Simon Cowell. [ Comments: none ]

According to Drudge Report, Fox received several phones complaining that Simon Cowell rolled his eyes when the Virginia native, Chris Robinson sent his support to the people of Virginia Tech. A Fox source told Drudge that Chris thought Simon’s eye roll was “sad and hurtful.” A Fox spokesperson told Drudge, “Look, in his defense, Simon felt Chris was cynically deflecting his criticism,” a FOX executive explained. “It was unfortunate… he clearly was unaware the camera was on him when he rolled his eyes, and he was hardly making a rude gesture to the victims.” I agree with the Fox spokesperson, that it was Simon referring to Chris saying he choose to sing nasally because that is a singing style and not about what happened at VT. Look we all know Country night is painful for Simon and although last night was not bad as year’s past, it was still bad. And when it comes to Chris’ singing I have to admit it was way too nasally for my ears and Chris’ rebuttal was a stupid one.
Also in defense of Simon after Blake Lewis performed Simon made a special note that the 3 Judges send their best wishes and support to the families of the tragedy and he understood it was a tricky week for the contestants. For those of us who watch American Idol on weekly basis we know it would not be Simon’s style to roll his eyes about such a terrible tragedy, but he would roll his eyes when a contestant says something stupid.

UPDATE: Drudge Report got this statement from Nigel Lythgoe:
“This is a sad time for everyone, so it is especially disheartening that a quick camera cutaway could have been misinterpreted. We’re sorry for any grief caused by this misunderstanding, but Simon was not reacting to Chris at that point. He had turned to speak to Paula and didn’t actually hear Chris’ final comments.”
Lythgoe continues: “Everyone at ‘AMERICAN IDOL’ feels compassion for those affected by this tragedy. We opened the show with those thoughts and Simon later expressed sincere condolences on behalf of the judges, recognizing the challenges we all face in dealing with this horrible event.”
