Rue McClahanan had bypass surgery on Tuesday but she is doing OK according to Reuters! She went to her doctor on Monday who noticed she had an irregular heartbeat and her check into the hospital for bypass surgery. According to The Advocate she was suppose to attend an event next week in San Fransisco, but instead sent a letter to cancel. She wrote, “My darlings, I’m just devastated that I am going to have to miss my own tribute at the Castro Theatre,” she said in a statement on Wednesday from her hospital room. “Unfortunately, my doctor has laid down the law, and I’m currently having some maintenance on the old ticker. Trust me, I’d much rather be in San Francisco having fun and being adored by all of you.”
Hopefully The Golden Girl will be better soon because with only two of them left we can’t lose another one of them anytime soon.
BTW am I the only thought of the episode where Blanche Deveraux got a pacemaker when they read the news?

Dennis Hopper, 73, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His manager told AP that, “We’re hoping for the best,” and so are we. Hopper just finished filming the second season of Crash and has cancelled his upcoming appearances to focus on his treatment.
He is the second person in entertainment that we have learned that was diagnosed with prostate cancer this week, Andrew Lloyd Webber announced it on Sunday. So men make sure to get tested because the prognosis is so much better with early detection.

Famed composer Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer according to a statement that his publicist released to The Press Association.

“Andrew Lloyd Webber has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The condition is in its very early stages.
“Andrew is now undergoing treatment and expects to be fully back at work before the end of the year.”

Hopefully he will be better soon because we are not ready to lose the man who brought us Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Starlight Express and The Phantom Of The Opera to name a few. He still needs to give us a few more memorable musicals that will leave us singing their songs forever. In fact he was expected to open Phantom of the Opera 2 in March in London, and at this point there is no word if the play will be delayed or not.

Poor girl to have something like that ruin her wonderful night. Seriously how awesome was her speech? It made me cry with her. Damn you ABC for cancelling Pushing Daisies one of the only two shows that brought you home Emmy gold tonight!
