Isaiah Washington, GLAAD to meet you |
| February 19th, 2007 under Shonda Rhimes. [ Comments: none ]

| ET has learned that "Grey’s Anatomy" star ISAIAH WASHINGTON will meet with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) today to address his recent public slur regarding cast mate T.R. KNIGHT. In the midst of the public backlash over his derogatory remarks, Washington has also fired his longtime publicist. It was late last week when ET broke news that Washington had issued a statement of apology regarding his recent comments at the Golden Globes, when the actor said in the press room after the ceremony that he "did not call T.R. a ‘faggot’."

Next he will be hosting their award’s show, ok I won’t go that far but he will be a presenter with TR Knight at least. Maybe it is just me, but I just feel this is a publicity stunt for both sides?

Did Isaiah Washington enter a treatment facility to save his job? |

Isaiah Washington has entered a treatment facility. This is what sources connected to ABC and Touchstone have confirmed to me, after Life & Style magazine broke the story about an hour ago. According to my ABC sources, one of the options the higher-ups at ABC/Disney had been considering was to release Washington from the cast of Grey’s Anatomy, without giving him a farewell episode. However, I’m told by an insider that Washington agreed to do "whatever it takes" to keep his position at Grey’s and to make amends with the gay and lesbian community. He also vowed to seek help for his psychological issues—hence, his entry into a treatment facility this morning. Grey’s Anatomy boss Shonda Rhimes released the following statement: "I speak for all the executive producers here at Grey’s Anatomy when I say that Isaiah Washington’s use of such a disturbing word was a shocking and dismaying event that insulted not only gays and lesbians everywhere but anyone who has ever struggled for respect in a world that is not always accepting of difference. "We’ve been working within the Grey’s family as well as with ABC and Touchstone Television to address the issue in a way that underscores the gravity of the situation while giving us all a foundation for healing. We applaud and encourage Isaiah’s realization that he needs help and his subsequent choice to seek immediate treatment for his behavioral issues. "We appreciate the support the fans have always given our show, particularly during this stressful time. Creatively, we continue to strive to make the best television we can with the hope that our show reflects the talent, hard work and professionalism of our cast and crew. " Washington also released his own statement: “With the support of my family and friends, I have begun counseling. I regard this as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again. I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity, and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally.” GLAAD president Neil Giuliano had this to say: "We are pleased to see him seeking help to deal with the issues he alluded to in his public statement last week."

I don’t miss him from that picture, do you? In fact I think the cast photo looks better without him! And way to go Chandra Wilson, she so deserved that win!

Patrick Dempsey and his wife, Jillian, welcomed twin boys into the world this afternoon in Los Angeles. Their names are Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen. No other details are known at this time. Interestingly, the children’s middle names are taken from their dad, Patrick Galen Dempsey. According to their rep, "The family is resting comfortably, and they’re excited." Dempsey, 41, plays "Dr. McDreamy / Derek Shepherd" on the hit show, "Grey’s Anatomy." The couple have one other child together, a 4-year old daughter, Talula.

Watch with Kristin is reporting that someone will not live to see the third part of the ferry three parter on Grey’s Anatomy. She also said it will be somebody we love, so that eliminates Isaiah Washington. I think it is going to be the under utlized Chief or can anyone remember if Eric Dane was signed for the full season???
She also said that the person that dies on Heroes (Michael Ausiello said on March 5th) will be someone we think who’s power is too strong to be killed off. Don’t worry their power will live on, but it will be through Sylar when he steals it from them. She also said that Masi Oka (Hiro) will not be working with the cast of Heroes next season. Which had me completely devastated until she explained he will be living in a different century. Things that make you go hmmmm, not sure if I like that.
