Tonight at 8p it is the season finale for The Carrie Diaries and it is time for the Junior Prom. Can you guess who will be going and who they are going with?
Will Sebastian and Carrie kiss and make up and go together or are they forever dunzo? Will Mouse go public West or will she keep their relationship a secret? Will Mags and Walt go together as friends? Will Donna LaDonna be Prom Queen? I can’t tell you any of that!
What I will tell you is Carrie goes to another Manhattan party that we all wish we could go to? She will also get an offer she can’t refuse? Her dad and her sister will be having better luck in love, but how long can that last? Maggie finds out why Walt and her really broke up? And let’s just say she doesn’t handle finding out he likes boys well. We find out more about Mouse and she finds out more about herself. Two friends share a forbidden kiss. Someone loses their virginity. Someone gets rejected. And two are friends are friends no more. And did I mention our first Sex and the City girl is part of tonight’s episode?
While I am sad that tonight is the season finale of The Carrie Diaries, I am happy with how the first season turned out. I was never a SATC girl, but I can’t get enough of young Carrie Bradshaw. At the beginning of the season I thought I was a Maggie, but now I realize that I am Carrie! And I hope next season I find I am a Larissa! So to the CW, pick up this show already because it deserves a second season. And it also deserves to be paired with a show that wasn’t days away from being cancelled. Long live The Carrie Diaries!
So while tonight is the season finale, what does show creator Amy B Harris have in mind for season two. I was recently at a screening for The Carrie Diaries and she talked about just that. She said, “The first season was the age of innocence and then lost. We started with this very innocent Carrie looking at the world as she has all of these amazing firsts; first book parties, first Madonna parties, first I love yous. All of those moments are huge. But the fun of it for season two is after those moments have happened and you have had some betrayals and some hurt along the way, who do you become? I think that is the journey that all of the kids will be going through in season 2.” The she added, “Finding fun, organic ways to keep NY as a big presence for all of them. I want to see Sebastian on the loose in Manhattan without Carrie and see what that looks like. Walt’s budding relationship with Bennett. Opening the world for a lot of the characters and what NY can mean to those kids.” So when would season 2 start up, her dream would be to start in the summer.
And here is a part all of you fans from the original will like, she is watching Sex and the City to prep her for writing episodes for next season. If and when The CW gives her the green light!
Now talking about SATC, some asked Austin Butler how he plays Sebastian knowing he is not the one she winds up with. He explained, “I heard that when Daniel Day Lewis was playing Lincoln that he went to the museum. I heard that he wouldn’t go in the room past when he was assinated because he didn’t need to know anything past that. I kind of feel that way. I had to put the blinders on and put my focus into what happening right then and the feeling of love, the feeling of heartbreak and everything that is happening right now. And not focus on what is happening in the future.” You know that makes sense. And if I had the choice I would choose him over Mr. Big! Who would be your dream man?
Tonight is the big night for Carrie Bradshaw on The CW’s The Carrie Diaries at 8p and you don’t want to miss it.
Sebastian (Austin Butler) tells Carrie (AnnaSophia Robb) he loves her and she responds by telling him she wants to have sex. The next day at work, she finds out she is invited to an exclusive party for Madonna’s Like a Virgin Tour on Friday and Larissa (Freema Agyeman) tells her that she can bring her Boy Toy as her plus one. So the two young love birds plan for the perfect night in Manhattan with Madonna and capping it off at a nice hotel alone for the very first time. How special will their night turn out to be? You will just have to watch it live at 8p on The CW to find out. Seriously we have to make The CW’s #2 most streamed show, the #2 most viewed on the channel too. It really needs a second season!
Now back to the show while Carrie and Sebastian are getting very serious in the city, love is in the air back home. There are plenty of new couples that will be touching for the very first time. Think you know who they are? There will be a lot of surprises of who these people are and you will never guess who will be hooking up? One couple I have been hoping to happen for a while and it is even better now that it is a reality.
Fun fact: At one point in the episode Carrie talks to the guy who wrote Like a Virgin and he explains how he came up with the song and how the record company wanted it done a different way. Well the show creator Amy Harris told us that she sent that part to the real Billy Steinberg to get his approval on the script. He changed a line of hers and it makes the meaning and moment even more special. I seriously have a new appreciation for that song.
Finally if you love Carrie’s black purse covered with neon nail polish all over it as much as I do, then you can order a personalized one on Cafe Press. I already ordered mine.
Sarah Jessica Parker sat down with Net-A-Porter magazine and told them her feet are snobs thanks to years of being on Sex and the City.
“For ten or so years, I literally ran in heels. I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained. But then I did I Don’t Know How She Does It, and I was very thoughtful about my whole wardrobe and said, you know, [Kate Reddy] could not afford really good footwear. So I got [lower priced] shoes and the bottoms weren’t leather, they were plastic, so I slipped a couple times, twisted my ankle. I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there.’ The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost. It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, ‘You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop – and don’t put cheap shoes on us?'”
I don’t know who needs to get over themselves more, her or her feet? I am saying she does because she also told the magazine that it’s “odd” to see AnnaSophia Robb play Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries. She probably feels that way because the much younger actress is so much more likable than she is.
Just when Carrie Bradshaw’s (AnnaSophia Robb) dreams start to come true, they will all quickly turn into a nightmare on tonight’s The Carrie Diaries at 8p on The CW!
Carrie starts her internship at Interview with Larissa (Freema Agyeman) and she is so in her element. She immediately fits in, so much so she is invited to go with her co-workers to Limelight, the hottest spot in Manhattan, on Friday night after work. That is the same night as the juniors and seniors will take part in a lock-in at her school. So she has the perfect excuse for her dad on why she will be out all night.
Since both girls are out of the house for the night, her dad (Matt Letscher) is going to go on a double date in Manhattan. The night will go so well for him that after dinner the four will go to Limelight. Yeah you know what is going to happen once he gets there…
Then there is life in Connecticut. There will be at least one more break up before the night is over and at least one new hook up. Think you can guess who? You can’t because no one will see it coming and it will definitely change things up.
Then there is Sebastian (Austin Butler), Mouse (Ellen Wong) and him are going to go to Limelight to find Carrie. Will they get there before her dad or will they make things even more awkward for our blooming flower?
So much is going to happen in this game changing episode, that you don’t want to miss a single second of this endearing show that gets better with each episode.
In fact I think this show is so much better than the series it is based on. And on that note, Carrie has her first Cosmopolitan tonight! Another Carrie Bradshaw first revealed tonight!
It is time for Carrie Bradshaw (AnnaSophia Robb) to dance on The CW’s The Carrie Diaries at 9p and you don’t want to miss a single song.
It’s that time of the year for the school dance and Carrie decides to ask George to be her date after Donna (Chloe Bridges) says something to her about Sebastian (Austin Butler). How will the hot new guy at her school react when he sees his ex with a new man? Also is this the night that Carrie will lose her virginity? On that note Mouse (Ellen Wong) is ready to go with Seth, but a bad grade puts their plans on hold. Maggie (Katie Findlay) is going stag because Walt (Brendan Dooling) has the chicken pox. Donna see her nemesis Maggie do something she shouldn’t be doing and will use it against her.
Even though a dance is supposed to be all about the fun, by the end of the night at least one of these couple will never go to another dance again. Think you know which couple that is? You won’t so you will have tune in for an episode that reminds just what it was like to go to your school dances when you were in high school!
Seriously please start watching this totally tubular show so that it can be back for another season. The Carrie Diaries is everything a show like this is supposed to be. It’s real, it’s relatable, and most of important it’s enjoyable! This show needs a following more than its competition!
