Maya Rudolph won an Emmy for playing Vice President Kamala Harris. And now, many of us are wishing and hoping that the VP will win the Presidential election in November.
But before we get to November 5th, there are going to be several Saturday Night Live episodes, so Lorne Michaels has asked Rudolph to reprise her role. And she said yes!
However, her acceptance of the role came at a price. According to Deadline, production has been halted on the third season of the actress’ heartfelt hilarious sitcom Loot on Apple TV+.
I get why she chose to do it. But I think it is fucked up that they had to halt production, which was slated to start in August, on the show because she committed to do so that she could do SNL. Hollywood is hurting due to the strikes. So, the people who work on the show probably depended on that money, and now they are not going to get it until at least late November, if not 2025. I hope she donates her paycheck to them because every little helps.
Yesterday was the season finale of Saturday Night Live. That means it was time for Michael Che and Colin Jost to write jokes for the other one.
How did it go? Scarlet Johansson was the target of one of the jokes for her husband, but she won’t be as upset as Rabbi Jill was sitting next to him as he told Jew jokes.
As bad as they were, Che is in trouble with Kendrick Lamar. The Rapper just got over his feud with Drake, and now he is in a fight with the Weekend Update co-host. I can’t wait to hear that diss track.
Which diss did you think was the worst or best, depending on how you look at it?
After Britney Spears released her autobiography, where she claimed that Justin Timberlake convinced her to abort their baby, he has been persona non grata by her friends.
Because of that, we haven’t heard much from him since then. And now it looks like he is coming out of hiding.
Today, Saturday Night Live announced that he will be the musical guest on January 27th.
Are we ready to forgive him like most did after the Janet Jackson fiasco? We shall see.
Last year, Saturday Night Live cleaned house. This year, none of the Not Ready for Primetime Players left the NBC variety show. In fact, they are getting a new member, and her name is Chloe Troast.
She will be visited by an old cast member for the season premiere on October 14th. That is because Pete Davidson, who will be promoting his standup tour, is hosting, and Ice Spice is the musical guest. The following week, Bad Bunny will do both.
The cast of season 49 are Michael Longfellow, Sarah Sherman, Punkie Johnson, Mikey Day, Ego Nwodim, Heidi Gardner, Colin Jost, Molly Kearney, Andrew Dismukes, James Austin Johnson, Marcello Hernandez, Michael Che, Bowen Yang, Cecily Strong, Kenan Thompson, Chloe Fineman, Devon Walker, and Troast.
Lorne Michael is 78 years old, and he has hinted that he plans on retiring at the end of the show’s 50th season in 2025.
So NBC has two options. They can cancel the show, or they can try it out with a new Executive Producer. And if they go with the latter option, Page Six is reporting that Tina Fey is being courted for the job.
“I would be surprised if it wasn’t her,” a source said. “Seth Meyers has his own show. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg won’t come here. Judd Apatow passed [on the job] years ago. Amy Poehler has her own stuff. Bill Hader is directing a movie. Kate McKinnon is too hot.”
Personally, I think she would be the best choice because she has an eye for talent. And that is something Michaels hasn’t had in a really long time. Plus, she is funny. Does the sketch series even remember funny?
