Screw you Michael Bay and your stupid production company for f*cking up Nightmare on Elm Street. That trailer for the remake looks like sh!t. Katie Cassidy just annoyed the heck out of me. And Jackie Earle Haley sounds nothing like Robert Englund’s Freddy and his voice just wasn’t scary enough. G-d that movie looks like sh!t. Where is Uwe Boll when you need him?
I might be biased because Elm Street was one of the few movies that scared the crap out of me and I used to sleep with a Freddy Krueger doll when I was college, but I don’t think I am and that movie looks like it is going to suck big time.
Before Robert Englund was the only Freddy Krueger I will ever accept in Nightmare on Elm Street slashing people in their dreams, he was in a movie called Slashed Dreams. How amazing is it to see the 27 year old actor in a dramatic role for that 1975 movie. I love Robert Englund and I think this is the first time I have seen him in something other than a horror or Sci Fi movie and he is f*cking brilliant as a dramatic actor too! What an amazing talent.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that New Line is doing A Nightmare on Elm Street without Robert Englund. I hope Freddy Krueger haunts the dreams of whoever had the stupid idea to bring back A Nightmare on Elm Street without him. A Nightmare on Elm Street is all about Robert Englund and without him the movie will suck. But then again this is by the same stupid company who is also destroying Friday the 13th. Platinum Dunes stop destroying the horror classics like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Birds and Near Dark and create original crap that needs to go straight-to-Sci Fi. (sorry Sci Fi for the diss, but straight-to-DVD was too nice.)
