This has been the summer of Foo Fighters. It started it off with them playing David Letterman’s final Late Show. Then while performing in Sweden Dave Grohl broke his leg during and kept on rocking. Next when 1,000 Italian fans got together and played Learn to Fly to convince the band to play Cesena; not only did they watch it, they agreed to play there.
Finally, yesterday when the dumbest group of people protested their show in Kansas City, they got in a truck and blasted Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. It’s the perfect FU to a group of a schmucks who need to be FUed more often. Although knowing them, they probably like that song. Shhh, so do I.
Now back to Foo Fighters, I don’t know what they will do next, and I can’t wait to find out.
’80s singer Rick Astley is Never Going To Give Up ways to stay relevant in the business because he told The Guardian that he is working on a movie musical called New York Cowboy.
New York Cowboy will tell the story of a small-town boy who moves to New York City in the 80s. It is not, in other words, an autobiography.
“My wife’s now a movie producer so I read a lot of scripts and I’m really passionate about films,” Astley said in a recent interview. “One day I thought, ‘Well, why don’t I write one?’ And it turned into a musical – but not for the stage.”
You know what I was saying about how I want Hollywood to be produce more original movie musicals, I changed my mind after reading that.
