From 2011-2016, I was obsessed with the docuseries Gigilos on Showtime. It was about five men who worked as paid escorts in Las Vegas and what it was like to live the life of a Gigilo.
After it ended, I never wondered what happened to those five men. And I should have. Because in 2020, one of them was involved in murdering a client.
On March 4th, Paramount+ is going to investigate the shocking murder committed by Ash Armand, whose real name is Akshaya Kubiak, in Sin City Gigolo: A Murder in Las Vegas.
When first responders arrive at the home of one of Gigilos’ stars, they discover a bruised and bludgeoned body. As the gruesome details emerge, questions quickly arise about the identity of the victim, the Las Vegas Police Department’s handling of the investigation, and how the sequence of events surrounding the death unfolded. What possessed a former reality TV star, who preached a mantra of love and light, to carry out such a brutal crime?
The three-part series will feature former Gigilos cast members, friends, family, and law enforcement who weigh in on this tragic case.
What light will they share about what led up to the night and what has happened since? That is why we will have to tune in.
If you missed Gigilos during its original run, you can stream every episode on Paramount+. Were there clues that something like this could have happened? Gigilos, believe it or not, was a lighthearted show. But I think I remember things changing when Ash joined the show in season 3.
Side note: One of the producers of Gigilos was Richard Grieco from 21 Jump Street and its spinoff Booker.
Richard Grieco shared a photo of himself all bloodied, so what happened? Did someone take the title of his 1991 movie literally and try to find out If Looks Could Kill? Nope, he was just filming a scene for his upcoming movie Art of the Dead with Tara Reid. Looks like his death scene will be very artistic.
Before Richard Grieco was saving kids on 21 Jump Street, he was saving just one on One Life to Live. He looks the same now as he did when he was 21 in that in that 1987 episode.
Gigolos is going to be back for a third season on Showtime on August 30th and there is a new guy for rent this season. Jimmy is out (reportedly for issues from his personal life) and Ash from Miami is in. On first glance, I think I want Jimmy back because I would not pay for the new guy. Actually I wouldn’t pay for any of them if I were ever going to hire a male escort. Even though I would never want or need to use a male prostitute, I can’t get enough of the show that was created by Richard Grieco, yes that Richard Grieco.
WENN.com Richard Grieco came out for the 12th Annual Lupus LA Orange Ball and I so want to 21 Jump Street him. If Looks Could Kill, I would be dead right now. Seriously doesn’t the 47 year old actor, musician, artist and creator of Showtime’s Gigolos look as sexy as when we got to know him as Booker back in 1988? Admit it, you totally want to spend A Night at the Roxbury with him.
