Before Ralph Macchio was all about wax on, wax off, as The Karate Kid, he was blowing bubbles with Bubble Yum! He hasn’t aged a day since he was 18 in that 1980 commercial.
Before Ralph Macchio was bullied in The Karate Kid, he was a bully in Up the Academy. He looks the same now as he did when he was 17 in that movie that came out 43 years ago today.
And when Macchio saw that on Old School 80s, he wrote to them, “🤯 thanks for letting me stick around… ain’t done yet.” And we can’t wait to see what else he got.
Cobra Kai was a sequel that was 30 years in the making. And great things came to the fans who waited. The series started its epic ride on YouTube and will end it on Netflix with its upcoming 6th season.
While this journey for Daniel (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (Billy Zabka) is coming to an end, I don’t think this is the last time we will see the Karate Kids.

Cobra Kai’s 5th season is going to premiere on September 9th, and today we got the first full trailer. After watching it, I need a nap. And if I am feeling that way after a less than three-minute preview, how am I going to feel after watching the whole season?
Especially since it looks exciting. What can we expect? Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.
That and a lot of fighting!
I am going to rest up over the next few weeks so that I can binge it all in one day. Then I will sleep until Halloween.
Before Ralph Macchio was all wax on, wax off for Karate Kid, he was all bend to the left, bend to the right for Bubble Yum. He looks the same now as he did when he was 17 in that 1980 commercial.
