The former Presidents and First Ladies, we like, did a vaccine PSA
March 11th, 2021 under Coronavirus, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

It is very important that we get the COVID-19 vaccine so that we can get as close to normal as we can get. However, so many people are still resistant to get it.

The CDC’s Ad Council teamed up with four of the former Presidents and their wives to ask people to get the shot as they did.

If Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, Bill and Hillary Clinton, George W, and Laura Bush, and Barack and Michelle Obama can get it, then you can too.

Please, if you can get the vaccine, then get it when it is available to you. Too many people have died or suffered the horrible side effects of the virus. How many more people do we have to lose to say enough is enough.

Until we have reached the level of herd immunity, wear a mask, wash your hands, get the shot, social distance, and think of other people besides yourself. Stop being selfish.

The First Dogs of the United States were sent home
March 9th, 2021 under Animals, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

White House

When President Biden was elected, one of the things we most looked forward to, is dogs being back in the White House after a four-year hiatus. However, the dog days of summer at 1600 Penn barely lasted a month.

According to CNN, the First Dogs were sent home to Delaware after Major allegedly bit a security office. The article goes on to say that the 3-year-old German Shepard is said to have also shown “agitated behavior on multiple occasions, including jumping, barking, and ‘charging’ at staff and security.”

Major was being a good boy and protecting his dad. Can you blame him? The previous administration and his cult followers have had it out for Biden.

Plus, we don’t know if his aggressive behavior is because the people were roughhousing with him. He is still a puppy, unlike his 13-year-old brother Champ, so he likes to play.

I say bring the canines back because they bring joy to their masters and the people who voted for them. Just get a dog trainer to work with him on his aggression.

Let’s be honest, Major’s alleged attack is less harmful than anything the orange occupant before Biden did. He didn’t get anyone killed with his bark.

UPDATE: Reuters’ Jeff Mason tweeted, “.@PressSec says @POTUS dogs will return to the White House soon, confirms the younger dog caused a minor injury to someone, who was treated at the White House.”

Good because I already miss them.

Joe Biden reveals why he rescued Major!
February 12th, 2021 under Politics. [ Comments: none ]

Last night while we were sleeping, First Lady Jill Biden placed several hearts on the White House lawn with a message for the American people. Each heart had a different word on it, and those words were: Healing, Courage, Love, Compassion, Gratitude, Peace, Amor, Strength, Kindness, Family, and Unity.

Then this morning, she and her husband walked by them and talked to the press. President Joe Biden revealed that Valentine’s Day is his wife’s favorite holiday. Back when he was Vice President, she would put hearts on the windows in his office that read Joe loves Jill. He does not deny that he loves her more, and that is why his name comes first. That is why people say they have a great love affair.

Not only do they love each other, but they also love their dogs Champ and Major. Both of their dogs came with them on the walk, and the press asked them about their best friends.

POTUS told them why they rescued Major. “Champ is an old one…He is almost 14 years old,” Biden said. “I asked the vet, ‘What can we do to keep Champ going?’ He said, ‘Get him a young dog.'” It is working, and the two First Dogs are buddies.

The president is also a buddy to the press. One of the reporters kept joking with him about bringing them out coffee too. Before he walked back into the White House, he gave her his cup to the reporter. He told her did not have a sip yet, so she could have it.

It was such a lovely moment. Especially, after the last four years. It was so nice to see someone be presidential again. Plus, I loved that he was wearing jeans and a leather jacket. It warmed my heart.

I was not enthusiastic to vote for him, but seeing all he has done since I did, I am so thrilled that I did. He is what a President should be, and we never needed that more than we do now.

Thank you to Joe, Jill, Champ, and Major for bringing class and love back to the White House.

Bernie Sanders turns his memes into a good cause
January 25th, 2021 under Politics. [ Comments: none ]

Last Wednesday, Bernie Sanders went to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ Inauguration on a cold Washington, D.C. morning. Therefore, he dressed warmly for the event by wearing a pair of handmade mittens. Since it was near freezing outside, the Senator looked grouchy as he waited for the outdoor festivities to begin.

His look and his expression were so perfect that it led to millions of people sharing thousands of memes of his image inserted into several different photos. Photos from movies, TV shows, album covers, historical events, locations, artwork, and so much more.

How does Sanders feel about becoming the comedic relief we all desperately needed? He told CNN’s Dana Bash that he is having fun with the memes.

So much so that he is turning them into a good thing. “Not only are we having fun, what we’re doing here in Vermont is we’re selling around the country sweatshirts and T-Shirts,” Sander said. “All of the money being raised, which I expect will be a couple of million dollars, will be going to programs like Meals on Wheels that feed low income senior citizens, so it turns out actually to be a good thing and not only a fun thing.”

While the two shirts and the crew neck are sold out, I am sure they will be available again at BernieSanders.com soon.

The way he is handling this whole situation reminds me why I voted for him in the 2016 primaries. I felt the Bern, and I still do.

These memes also show us that we have moved on from the last administration’s negativity. We are back to not taking politics so seriously, and it feels so awesome.

There are animals, who walk on four legs, back in the White House!
January 25th, 2021 under Animals, Politics. [ Comments: none ]

For the last four years, there have been no animals, that walk on four legs, in the White House. However, that all changed yesterday when President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s dogs Major and Champ moved into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

How are the arfdorable pups liking it? “Champ is enjoying his new dog bed by the fireplace and Major loved running around on the South Lawn,” said Michael LaRosa, the first lady’s press secretary.

Normalcy has been returned to Washington, D.C, because of their arrival. You cannot trust someone who doesn’t love animals, and we all know that we couldn’t trust Trump and his administration.

This post is not about them; it is about the First Dogs of the White House. I can’t wait to see what mayhem they cause because it will be as cute as them.

I seriously missed having pets in the White House. It is time that the barking that is coming from the press room actually comes from animals that bark and not press secretaries.
