NFL Hall of Famer Frank Gifford passed away today a week before his 85th birthday according to Today. In his younger life, he was known for being a wide receiver and a halfback for the NY Giants. After he retired from the game, he become a sports broadcaster. But most people today, know him as Kathie Lee Gifford‘s husband. Ever since they married in 1986, she always talked about her relationship to him on the air, so we feel like we’ve known him. Today, we mourn him with her. She simply Tweeted, “Deeply grateful to all 4 ur outpouring of grace. We r steadfast in our faith & finding comfort in knowing where Frank is. Phillippians 4:13.”

Alex Rocco passed away yesterday at the age of 79 according to his daughter Jennifer, who wrote a beautiful poem in his honor. Rocco started working in the mid-60’s and he never stopped. The actor was known for his gravely voice that made him sound tough, but he still came off as loveable. He is best known for playing Moe Green in The Godfather. Others of us know him for playing Jo’s dad on The Facts of Life and Matt LeBlanc’s father in Episodes. These are just a few of the many many many roles he played his long career that included drama, comedies and everything else in between.

Amanda Peterson passed away this week at the age of 43, just says before her 44th birthday, and the cause of her death is unknown at this point according to TMZ.
The actress is best known for Can’t Buy Me A Love, a movie that made many girls, like me, wish they were her. While this is her most famous role, she starred in many other productions like Annie, Explorers, A Year in the Life, Fatal Charm and Windrunner to name a few.

Dick Van Patten passed away today at the age of 86 due to complications from diabetes according to Variety. He is best known for playing the patriarch on Eight is Enough, but that was not enough for his acting career. He did several commercials, guest star roles and starred in several of Mel Brooks movies like Space Balls and High Anxiety.
In his later years, he devoted a lot of time to animals. He created Natural Balance Pet Foods
and National Guide Dog Month.

The actress/comedian spent 61 years married to her comedy partner Jerry Stiller and even longer making us laugh. The two of them brought their act to the talk shows of the ’60s and ’70s. They worked together and they worked apart. Her TV resume included Archie Bunker’s Place, Rhoda, Alf, All My Children and Sex and the City, and her films include Fame, Reality Bites and Night at the Museum. The projects she was most proud of were her children Amy and Ben Stiller.
