Grant Imahara passed away from a brain aneurysm at the age of 49, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Imahara is best known as the robot builder on Mythbusters, but he had an even cooler job before that. For nine years, he worked at LucasFilms, and he eventually he became the chief model maker specializing in animatronics. While he was there he worked on George Lucas’ Star Wars prequels, as well as The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revolutions, Galaxy Quest, XXX: State of the Union, Van Helsing, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, A.I. Artificial Intelligence and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
However, I knew him for something different. In 2010, he created a robot sidekick for Craig Ferguson’s The Late Late Show. Geoff Peterson became a big part of the show before it ended. Hopefully, someone will plug Peterson in, and let him say goodbye to his daddy.
Today, honor Imahara by watching one of his many creations that were as lovable as him.
Naya Rivera’s body was found today after a five-day search in Lake Piru. The 33-year-old actress went missing on July 8th during a boating trip with her 4-year-old son Josey. According to the Ventura sheriff’s office, her last act was to save her son. The two of them were swimming in the lake when something went wrong. She pushed her son back onto the boat; when he turned around, his mom was gone.
His mom was his age when she started acting. Her first role was on The Royal Family with Della Reese and Redd Foxx. One day during a rehearsal, Foxx suffered a heart attack on the set and passed away. The show was cancelled, but her career was just getting started.
She guest-starred on several popular shows like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Smart Guy, and The Bernie Mac Show. However, her biggest acting role came in 2009 when she was cast as Santana Lopez on Glee.
It was her biggest acting role, but her biggest role in life was being a mom to her son Josey with her ex-husband Ryan Dorsey.
Today, let’s honor her by watching one of her many roles. Then, let’s live by the words of one of her last tweets, “no matter the year, circumstance, or strifes everyday you’re alive is a blessing. make the most of today and every day you are given. tomorrow is not promised”
Kelly Preston has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer at the age of 57, according to her loving husband John Travolta.
It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal.
All my love,
JT
Kelly Preston began her acting career in 1980, but her biggest role came at the end of the decade. That is when she met her husband John Travolta on the set of the 1989 movie The Experts.
By then, she was an expert in acting thanks to roles in Secret Admirer and Twins. As the century was rounding out, she was seen in movies like Jerry Maguire, Holy Man, and Jack Frost. In this century, we watched her in Sky High, The Last Song, Casino Jack, and her final project Gotti with her husband.
Which brings me to her greatest role, and that was mother to their three children Jett, Ella Blue, and Benjamin. Jett passed away in 2009 from a seizure. Their late son also suffered from autism, and she blamed chemicals for causing it. When he was child, she switched away from harmful chemicals, and talked about that in several interviews.
Before she settled down with Travolta, she was married to Kevin Gage, dated George Clooney, and she was briefly engaged to Charlie Sheen. However, it was her last her love that was her greatest love.
Today, let’s honor her spirit that was as beautiful as her by watching one of her many movies and television appearances.

Carl Reiner passed away yesterday at the age of 98 from natural causes according to Vanity Fair.
He had an illustrious career in Hollywood that lasted over 70 both in front of and behind the camera. He is best known for creating The Dick Van Dyke Show. However, he did so much more.
In front of the camera, we saw him on the show he created as Alan Brady. However, he was in movies like It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad World, The Jerk, and Oh Gd!. He also guest-starred on so many great series like Mad About You, Ally McBeal, The Bernie Mac Show, House, Two and a Half Men, Hot In Cleveland, Young & Hungry, and Angela Tribeca. He was acting up until he died.
That was not his only facet. He was also a comedy writer during the Golden Age of television, and his words helped to inspire a lot of today’s sitcom writers. The things that he and Mel Brooks did together was comedy gold. Which is probably why they had a friendship that lasted 70 years. In fact, Reiner’s last Instagram was to celebrate his best friend’s 94th birthday on Sunday.
Reiner had two partners in life, Brooks and his wife of 65 years, Estelle Reiner. Together, they had three children, Lucas, Annie, and Rob. Rob Reiner wrote this about his father’s passing, “As I write this my heart is hurting. He was my guiding light.”
Together, the father and son spent the last few years bashing Donald Trump. I have a feeling Trump won’t be getting rest anytime soon because, you know, Reiner is going to be haunting it.
Today, remember Reiner, as he lived, with laughs. Discover the great things he did for comedy by watching some of his genius work. There was no one like him. Well, maybe Mell Brooks, but no one else. Maybe Sid Caesar, but that is it. Wait, I will stop there because he truly was a legend.
Fred Willard passed away at the age of 86 in his sleep yesterday, according to KABC.
What isn’t the comedic actor known for throughout his long career. He started his career in 1966, and he didn’t stop until he died. In that nearly 65 year career, we saw him Fernwood Tonight, This is Spinal Tap, Roseanne, Mad About You, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, Anchorman, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Bold and the Beautiful, Modern Family, the upcoming Space Force, and many many late night appearances.
If you watched television, then you have seen him in something. Therefore, remember today by watching in anything he was in and laughing with him.
