On March 10, 1998, Netflix changed the home video game when they snail-mailed out a DVD of Beetlejuice. Since then, over 5 billion DVDs have been sent out to their subscribers. But on September 29th, that is all coming to an end. That is because Netflix announced today that they are ending the service.
Who knew it was still in existence? But it is. And will be for another five months. And then we will be forced to watch movies on our televisions, phones, tablets, and computers via Netflix’s streaming service like we have been doing since 2007.
Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos said, “We feel so privileged to have been able to share movie nights with our DVD members for so long, so proud of what our employees achieved and excited to continue pleasing entertainment fans for many more decades to come.”
Isn’t that what Blockbuster said before Netflix acquired them? Just saying.

People all over the world were ready to watch the Love is Blind Live reunion. But it didn’t happen because it was plagued with technical issues. First, it didn’t start on time. And then the feed wasn’t going out. So all watchers got was an error page saying that the title wasn’t available.
Needless to say, the fans were pissed and complained on social media. So Netflix responded with, “To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned. We’re filming it now, and we’ll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and sorry.”
So, the not-live reunion will begin streaming today, “Love Is Blind: The Reunion will be available globally at 12pm PT on April 17. Promise.”
They better hope that it is available on time, or they will feel the wrath of their subscribers. And you don’t want to mess with Netflixers when they can’t Netflix & Chill.
And I hope the fan’s employers let them have a break long enough to watch the special when it begins streaming. After all, it is not their fault Netflix isn’t used to doing live.
So many people, including me, spent the weekend binging Beef, and we all had one question. Was that Steven Yeun singing Amazing Grace in the revenge dramedy?
Netflix took to social media to answer that question. And that answer is, “Yes, that really is Steven Yeun singing in BEEF!”
So there you have it. Someone needs to book him for a musical ASAP because we need to hear him sing more.
Earlier this week, Sex/Life’s Sarah Shahi was brutally honest on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast about how she felt filming the second season of her Netflix sexual drama.
“I’m not going to put it down, but I definitely did not have the support that I did the first season from the people involved in the show,” she said. “It became a much different thing for me, and I’m not afraid to say that. I struggled with the material. I just felt the thing that it had the first season — I mean, I’m never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this, but I can’t lie. And it was definitely a challenge.”
The actress was upset that she wasn’t able to work with her real-life boyfriend, Adam Demos, as much this season.
Well, she can now spend as much time with him as she wants because Deadline says that Sex/Life will not be back for season 3. A Netflix source told the site, “The second season brought the series to a natural close, wrapping up the storylines for key characters whose relationships come to a happy conclusion, adding the streamer is proud of the show and the work put in to it by producers, cast, and crew.”
I would believe that more if they had announced their decision before Shahi’s comments.
I don’t know about you, but except for that infamous shower scene in season 1, I found the show boring. Too bad the behind-the-scenes stuff was more titillating.
Manifest has survived two networks, but its Death Date is finally upon us. Netflix announced today that the final ten episodes of the show about a plane that mysteriously lands five years after the day it took off will stream on June 2nd.
In the aftermath of Angelina unleashing a devastating volcanic fissure, the passengers face severe scrutiny in a world fueled by 828er hate, no longer free to solve their own Callings without constant supervision by the unscrupulous 828 Registry. I cannot wait to see how this series ends. While the show did not get as many seasons as they thought they were going to get because NBC cancelled it. At least Netflix is letting them end the program the way they wanted.
